That was an entertaining video. About 95% above my head, but entertaining. Thanks for putting it together.

Thanks. You may want to "sneak a peek" at the other videos on that channel. There is starting to be a useful accumulation of info there. That was an entertaining video. About 95% above my head, but entertaining. Thanks for putting it together.
I wonder what the pump source and crystals for these orange opsls are?

Why are you asking? These are semiconductor gain media that are doubled to the visible. I would guess that they are 808nm IR diodes.
Thread rezzing, I know but I was curious what kind of output power you were finally able to achieve with this setup. I was also curious to know if you ever got around to creating more of the exotic wavelengths. I would love to see a video on that if you had the time. After seeing your flash lamp videos, I know you have a lot of other irons in the fire.
If you're the smartest person in the room, then you're in the wrong room.
I was able to get 8.5W at the 532nm wavelength. I did attempt to produce the yellow wavelength both with a diamond and self Raman in the vanadate and the results with the diamond were encouraging although the power was quite low at 200mW. The reason it was encouraging is that the coatings were not optimized. The diamond was not AR coated at all and I utilized the KTP designed for 532nm and operated it at 573nm.
The cost of obtaining optimized crystals coated for the fundamental and first stokes would be a couple of thousand dollars and that is why I have not proceeded any further. KGW might be a better choice than diamond at these low power levels because it is much easier to coat and less expense.
Yes, a lot of irons in the fire and all of it is fun. Too many ideas and too little time.
