Clean the purple colored Nd:YVO4 crystal with very pure acetone and see if your problem goes away. Do not clean the clear KTP crystal, acetone melts KTP under some circumstances.

I service ND:YAG for a living. We are not often surprised when the "crack" turns out to be the heat transfer material the crystal is mounted in. Otherwise your looking at 45-90$ for a new piece of Vandate.

Looks like an easy fix as long as your IR diode is working. I've turned lots of the B&W Tek BWB-10-OEM's that a lot of us bought and used these small crystals http://www.ebay.com/itm/2X-Laser-Pum...item1c277ab0f7 in place of the LBO's, modified the mount and align and get this out of them.

While that is a awesome solution for the BW TEk, the 3 watts of pump in his laser is probably going to melt that little hybrid crystal.

I believe the pump in the BW TEK is that size and I have no issues, When the IR hits the ND:YV04 it's at a pin point and during alignment I've hit the glue holding the crystal and it would instantly burn it but not the crystal after running for some time I'd touch the crystal mount which is on the good sized TEC and it wound feel cold. I haven't measured the output don't have a meter.
