That's right. These are too expensive to do the needed work (just like the 4W C-mounts). They are based on a strained lattice GaN and to extract that power must resort to multimode producing, maximum cavity volume utilization within the junction and therefore will probably work more like the higher power 445 multi-modes than the single modes. But, if I remember correctly these were much less robust to temperature rise than the blue GaN diodes. So, they may not overdrive as well. At these prices NO ONE is going to drive them hard. At these prices I would be a little nervous each time I switched on the projector fearing... no-green.

An interesting thing for me is that even though I like experimenting, the turn key green source in my current projectors has always meant quick progress (a few saved steps). So, when these diodes drop to say $200 or less a diode then I'll get a couple and wring them out optically and thermally and look to add them to an existing projector or to build a new all direct diode unit. My current projectors are not bulky because of the green. It is the sum of the power supplies, the cooling and the beam manipulation including the scanning system as well as the green and with the color correction board the colors are REALLY nice.

I followed your advise, Dave and got a pretty good deal from Laserwave. I pushed them relatively hard and so I am loosing a little on this distribution, but not all that much. However, there are going to be some pretty accelerated projects coming out of this, so that's worth it.

Check out the PLP520 B2. Rated for 120mW, probably pushable to at least 150mW, maybe 200mW. AFAIK they are multimode but the beam spec is still good, better than 445nm diodes. Cheap too, they currently go for around $100.

Posting in thread as I didn't get a response via pm, did I provide the correct email address my username at gmail.com. Never saw a invoice but per our PM yesterday you said 6 we still left, so expected to see one. I won't be connected tomorrow, out the day traveling and am one of those people who actually are fine without a smart phone. Might grab a connection at a restaurant or something. Please let me know so I can make payment, if I missed out that's fine as well, but guessing that isn't the case and didn't want you thinking I was a non-payer when I said I'd take something.

    Thanks

    Polished,

There is a lot of back and forth as they get paid for. I intend to give each person 24 hours to respond to an invoice once it is sent out. If you haven't seen one then either I miss sent it or I haven't sent it. In your case, I just checked and I haven't sent one so far. With the non responders I have been sending reminders and requests to verify their PayPal address. This is pretty time consuming as you might guess.

Have not seen a post...are any models still available?

I will remove stock as these invoices are paid and I am pretty sure that I will run out of inventory today. I will post, as soon as I can, when I am out of a model to avoid wasting anyone's time, but there is inevitably going to be some phase mismatch here. It just can't be avoided

There is one 2W waiting for a response.
