I just heard from a Chinese supplier that the cost of the 1 watt green diode just dropped a lot in price. They would not explain what a lot meant.. but I would guess it would indicate a good amount.

This is pretty important. For portable projectors a complete diode system is ideal and with the near term availability of very high speed scanners from Pangolin the need for green diode lasers is high. Oclaro is offering 700mw reds with 1W in less than a year. The 9mm 445s can easily exceed 5W in a dual set up. A very high speed dual green with 3W now will really improve the modulation balance as these projectors increase in speed. The barrier is price. Until the dual green becomes less than $1,000 to build or buy, DPSS will dominate.

The best I could get out of them was that it must be "around" a 400 dollar drop.
