What about Norty's color concerns. Is there some feedback from those that have used these 520 greens in projectors? Maybe hear what they say before purchasing? I guess if it isn't too expensive then you would be one of those that could report on this.

i use a 520 in my micro projector. the colors are a little more "argon like", but it's a pretty subtle color shift and is easy to miss.

suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.

You know, brown might not be bad if it was a choice. Anyone thought about adding 1 to 1.5 W of 520 to a DPSS by taking advantage of these polarized sources and PBS combining them? Keep the diode room temp for simplicity and rotate the diode rather than use a wave plate. Would a broader band green (dual band) improve the cyans and still produce nice yellow and orange (and brown)?

with a wider bandwidth you have a wider variaty in colors. If you had red green and blue each in 2 different wavelenghts that would be a very nice projector. I think i have just found my next project

you also don't need to make them match in power. that way if the dpss craps out on thermal issues you still get a green and not purple.

You know planters you are too smart to be a human. You must be from up.....there

Actually, that was a possibility when the diodes were expensive, but I think that the higher space requirements will prevent me trialling it. It'll now be either all diode or all DPSS

You are using Bonetti's defense against me, ah?

I thought it fitting, considering the rocky terrain.

The 475 would be killer.. maybe that would take care of the "brown" problem.. not sure I'm liking the thought of a brown laser beam instead of orange/ yellow .. :|

I doubt 475 will do anything for the brown problem, as blue isn't a component of orange or yellow.
