In my life, I always try to look at the biggest picture possible. To me, the big picture question is HOW MANY people are being successful with this, or being successful with that? To me "how cool" something is does not matter as much as HOW SUCCESSFUL people can be.

Take two rockets for example. To me the absolute coolest rocket ever conceived is the Soviet N-1. Take a look at it in Wikipedia. It looks cool, and it is articulated not by gimbling engines (as the Saturn 5 was), but by controlling the amount of fuel going to it's many engines -- each engine angled slightly differently, thus providing pitch, roll and yaw. When you compare the Soviet N-1 to the US-made Saturn 5, the Saturn 5 is much more simple and, if you will, crude. But the Saturn 5 took man to the moon nine times!

You yourself may prefer LSX and that's fine. All people need to do is download the demo version of QS and the demo version of LSX (if there even is one) and see for themselves how successful they will be. See how quickly they can make a laser show with both programs. QS may -- on the surface -- seem simpler, but I guarantee people will be successful at making a laser show with QS. No doubt about it! How can I guarantee it? Because we are contacted every day by people who tell us their story. People would need to look no further than our Facebook page to see that, for the most part, our clients are literally raving fans.

I appreciate your advice and concern Keith, but QS is already the best-selling laser software on earth. There are single days on which we shipped more than 400 units! What QuickShow does, how it works, and (most importantly) how it helps people is ENGINEERED into the product. And the kind of people to whom QuickShow appeals are exactly the kind of people who don't want to delve into manuals.

There are currently nearly 300 shows on the Pangolin Shows Portal made available by clients for other clients, all absolutely free. They may not appeal to you but -- if nothing else, it shows that people are begin successful with the product. And while initial shows are made using our large built-in library, once people get the hang of it, they then create more complex shows of their own content.

We're just about to announce the winner of our QS and BEYOND competition. The winners of these win super-valuable prizes, like the latest iPhone 5 and iPad Air.

Our mission is to help people be successful in their endeavors. One of the things we do to help accomplish that is offer what I call a "toolbox" analogy. No single tool made by anyone can accomplish all styles of shows. We offer a variety of tools to help people accomplish a variety of tasks.

Keith, I have some custom cue packs on the Show portal all made in QS.

They were made "blind" (no laser to preview) so some are better than others but they're there. Also, a few others from here have done the same, I think Bart was one but there are several others.

It might be worth popping over there and downloading these packs to give yourself a supply of custom created cues. Save the ones you like into a custom workspace and discard the ones you don't.

Also, if you want to PM me, I'll give you some tips on how to create cues in QS that can't ordinarily be created. It's simpler than you think.

    Happy New Year Bill!

I agree whole-heartedly about QS being simple to use. Last night I was running my 2 main projectors using QS and 2 satelites with LSX. It's the first time that I've used LSX in a live environment and both pieces of software functioned flawlessly - other than one issue that the QS window does not allow freedom to resize at will. Is there a setting to change this?

I don't prefer LSX. QS was a great choice for me as a beginner and still is now. My move towards LSX is a creative decision.
Thank you for the links Bill. I will take a look tomorrow (only had a few hours sleep).

I will post some photos from last night at some point. The lasers were very much appreciated.

Thanks White-Light, I may take you up on that and give Pangolin's competition a shot if they do one next year

suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.

Haha. I've got my work cut out this year as it is but it would be handy to figure out how to create some QS abstracts. I've not tried since owning LSX and there may be some useful overlap.

quickshow is certainly capable of making good shows, but most of the shows i've seen have been stock abstracts and clip art. that gets old fast, but is more of a reflection on the artist, not the software.

i like this quickshow abstract show:

You probably need to reinstall the drivers or maybe download some from the Pangolin Website: http://www.pangolin.com/UpdateFiles.htm

I have mine running under Win 7 64 bit. No issues.

Mine is also running great on Win7 64. I had huge problems installing the drivers for my FB3 though. I finally stumbled upon my issue. Since I keep my Pangolin machine from going online, I normally load my downloads onto a flash drive and install from there. When I tried to locate the drivers to update the "found hardware" I kept getting a message that said access denied. I finally found that I had to unblock the driver files and also untick the "Encrypt contents to secure data". That was about 20 minutes of frustration which actually had nothing to do with Pangolin. After that, worked like a charm.
