Hand delivered a set of amps in NY,NY while working on a larger system. Client very,Very happy, with performance once tuned. So I am because this is th first time I've seen these scanners full angle in a long throw. Bill has added a smt component to the PCB on this latest set of galvos. It does improve performance. I'll need to find out what it is.

Default Power Supplies for your Drivers

Hi Steve, (so I can be ready) do the boards each require one +24VDC supply, or do they require +/- 24VDC ? The reason I ask is because I have two nice 24VDC industrial power supplies but I can not wire the 24 VDC outputs in series to achieve +/-24VDC with respect to ground because that would short out one of the supplies because the negatives on the supplies are referenced to 0VDC/ground.

Is the question clear? (I mean that sincerely). Below the 'o' represents a power supply output terminal (+24VDC or 0VDC) and this -____+ represents wiring negative on one supply to positive on the other.

    PS#1 | PS#2
    o o | o o
    + - __+ -

    ...... ^^
\_______ This connection shorts PS (Power Supply) #2 to ground

    Thanks,
    Jason

    Each require +/- 18~24VDC.

    Steve et al.
Can the input range on the red "Steve" drivers be push to ±28V?
    Thanks.

for the love of god please hear me on this DO NOT connect the center of the supplies to the earth ground. It has to float. Believe me I learned the hard way. Let the center of the supplies act as the ground point for everything except the ac for the supplies. That goes to earth ground. If you connect the center of the reference to earth ground it unbalances all of the system. It might work but you'll have all kinds of weird problems that you cant explain. BTW: that had a lot to do with why the flexmods where frying diodes.

suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.

I'm afraid you'll need new PSUs then.

The amps require split supplies at least 3.5 volts greater then the 7815 and 7915 regulators on board. They will NOT run off a single supply. You need at least plus 18.5 volts and minus 18.5 volts for the amp to run.
