Seems one of my DT30 galvos has developed a short between signal Gnd and the casing taking it to actual Gnd (my other galvo doesn't do this so if it is supposed to, I have a break in this one). Please can someone tell me who I need to contact to obtain a set of 506's with amps in the UK?

    Thanks
    Cheers

    Colin.

Colin, I'm not sure the Pangolin amps are available as of yet, hence Steve's role in providing amps in the group buy.

However, modifications can be made to your DT amps to allow them to function with the 506's and as Steve says, Francesco is probably your closest point of contact.

Love the lil 'micronaut' Green! Killer scratchbuild! ..and, isn't the LQ-green beam-quality just amazing? Have always loved their craft, expensive tho-they are.. The 1-2W 'Excel's are / were just amazing lil' workhorses..

Thanks Steve and Whit-Light for your replies.
I was aware Pangolin have not yet produced amps for the 506's (are there any in the pipeline?) but as I'm not comfortable trying to mod my own amps, it seemed logical to obtain the scanners and modded amps from the same source. Collimated appear to only sell the scanners but I have asked them if they sell the amps too.

    Again thanks for the replies.
    Cheers

400 connector pins and 60 special SMT diodes will be here tomorrow. When that happens I can clear the remaining back orders.
    Tuning the amps today.

so I stopped by pangolin over the weekend for something unrelated and Bill took me on a little tour of their scanner manufacturing process... I was amazed to discover that these things are all assembled/tested by hand in their office... I figured at that price point these things were being made in china or something... need to order some soon!

Hi flecom; It was nice meeting you ever so briefly, I'm the guy who was in the back working on scanners under the microscope when you came through! Glad you got to see part of our process!

Sung to the Keebler Elf tune... "Oh you never would believe where those Pangolin scanners come from"

Thank you, Steve. Given that you have now worked on a full batch, I am curious to know if this is a venture you're going to continue with? Granted, I am sure a lot of things were ironed out in the first batch, making subsequent batches easier, cheaper, better. The amount of work you have put in is awesome and at next SELEM, I owe you a round of beers!

BUT!!! The main question is whether you happened to ask about the DSP amps? That's what I'm holding out for. We saw 'em at FLEM last February so I'm hoping it won't be much longer. (Bill should have taken my gold card when I handed it to him! LOL)
