Free Geek is also relatively close by. (Sort of in between the venue and Surplus Gizmos.) Worth a stop, anyway- for all sorts of random computer-related electronic items and cables.

If anybody forgets anything or needs a power supply we can make a run to surplus gizmos if needed. I am going tomorrow as I am short on power supplies.... I found a large galvo there one of the last visits with Platinum. picture

Well shit... Just got an e-mail alert on my phone: My flight from Charleston to Atlanta has been cancelled, and the one from Atlanta to Portland is delayed. On the phone right now with both Delta and Orbitz trying to figure out how they're going to get me out to Portland. Don't know if I'll be able to post again here or not, but I'll at least give Jonathan a call once I know what my plans are.

Funny, I went to Surplus Gizmos yesterday, special trip. Didn't knock much off my shopping list, but they do have power supplies galore, and all kinds of other geeky stuff. They're only open until 6 on Fri, 5 on Sat, closed Sun & Mon.

OK - update on my flight. They've cancelled all flights tonight from Charleston to Atlanta, because they can't find enough crew members. (Seriously - that was the excuse they gave!)

So now I'm flying out tomorrow morning on the red-eye. I should arrive in Portland around 11 AM local time (assuming no more delays or cancellations), which means I might be able to get to the venue by noon-ish.

Sorry Jonathan, but I guess I won't be there for the set up after all. (At least not for the first part anyway.) I'll give you a ring when I'm on the way.

No problem. Setup isn't going to take much and I'm considering the whole day of Friday as setup anyway.

With the Snowpocalypse there in Atlanta, I'm sure half of the local crew members lost their vehicles in epic crashes or something..
