Default Replying to Threads and Showing Up as "New Posts"

When I add a "reply" to an existing thread, that I started, why doesn't that "reply" show-up as a "New Post" for me?

Does my "reply" to my own thread show-up as a "New Post" for other users but not for the originator of the thread? Perhaps there is a setting on my profile that I need to change?

Why would you need to see your own replies in 'new posts'?
AFAIK it is for tracking new content you may not have seen, so unless your memory is really bad....

You are using Bonetti's defense against me, ah?

I thought it fitting, considering the rocky terrain.

New posts only appear when you haven't read them yet. The software assumes you've read your own reply since you wrote it. You're correct in saying that your reply shows up for other users.
Personally I prefer this way of handling forums, as this makes it easy to distinguish between what you've read and what you haven't. If you want to see all recent posts, go to "Today's posts", under Quick Links.

I just wanted to make sure I wasn't doing something wrong when adding to my own thread with additional information.

    Hi Turbohead,

The simple answer is because PL is based on vBulletin which was at the time a basic and free web interface.
