*pleads guilty of using twisted toilet paper, smouldering at one end*. There was a reason I mentioned it earlier... But it wasn't a good one. I was only after testing some static beams at the time though, and the smell was still there 24 hours later, so I very rarely do it.

    Idea/question:
Could an e-cig be converted to do a tiny test fog using glycol fluid, if you coudl force air through it without breathing it in, perhaps from a cheap aquarium pump? I don't know enough about how they work, but it could be a neat hack to try.

Solitude, you can buy a cheap fog machine at Maplin for £29 / probably $29 USA:

    http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/fx-lab-400...th-fluid-r60ma

It really isn't worth risking your health for such a small amount plus if you keep using incense pellets, they'll soon cost you far more than a cheap machine + fluid.

Will a cheap machine last? Probably not a long time but look after it and you'll get decent service.

If you want better, then save £100 / probably $100 USA and get a Jem or Martin Magnum 650 machine. Keep it clean and it will last you for years.

I had a Martin Magnum 650 and they're superb little machines. Also ideal for small rooms as they're powerful but controllable.

The cheap machine should be ok too albeit with the confines of what I said about possible lifespan.

As an aside, 1.4W will take your eyes out so keep outside of the beams or inside a BAM (still some risk with the latter from failure / errors in setup).

TBH I'm the wrong person to ask as I've never had one so have only heard of others experiences.

I went straight onto the Martin Magnum 650.

Great little machine and bullet proof if treated right.

Kind of ironic that you can spend big $$ on a projector, yet people get frugal about the cost of a $25 fog matching.

I was talking about the whole DIY fog machine in general.

The world doesnt revolve around you.

How about you leave this thread instead, since you want to talk about off-topic stuff?

Whatever do you mean sir??? I've been on topic the whole time, and have no reason to leave the thread.

Im not surprised youre so paranoid and think i said this because im another user butthurt from you posting under a new name because from the very first topic you started in the forum it seems you have more than a handful of those.
And btw if i were such a person, that wouldnt make me a troll, that would mean i should really get over some stuff and get a life, but not make me a troll. Or maybe its you in your picture, in which case my bad.
You're so rude. Do you kiss your mother with that mouth?

Why are you making things up, and attacking me? You're the one who is being disrespectful on this thread.

IMHO- forget the frying pan- & got with a dozen sticks of incense in the smallest area you can find-
make sure nothing is moving the air about- (fans -A/C etc) or you will lose theat cool 'whispy' look in LiQ Sky-

I found a very small fogger for 10$ at a local drugstore the day after holloween (70% off)
These rarely come with fog juice which is actually good as they never add the good kind'
Instead look for Froggy's on Ebay and get the smallest size- when you are done pour the juice back into the jug and run a 1/4 cup of distilled water thru your fogger before storing ( #1 fogGer killer is storing with juice)
DO NOT RUN THE FOGGER WITH OUT SOMETHING IN IT.. Natures fog is free-
One other option is to find a member close enough to visit who has a fogger already-

I got some nice pics on night when there was almost NO wind- smothered a fire i had going and aimed my lasers in the direction the smoke was moving. --just take great care where you do this- beams hitting houses or crossing the road should NEVER happen-- I only do such things like these after 3 AM--
Bed sheet make OK screens and widow sheers are much like scrims- (both VERY cheap at Thrift shops)
I got a 7x7 foot old movie screen(8$)- removed it from its stand and have it arttached to the ceiling in my living room- I can pull it down anytime and even weak lasers look very bright on it. GREAT for LUMIA!!

about your camera- IMO its best to NOT use your most expensive one- AND do you best to avoid direct into the lens aiming of it. so slightly off to either side , above or below the beams- There is NO danger taking pics of abstracts or animations- and also of course No danger at all with a FILM or VCR camera (except possibly for the light meter inside)
good luck and show us the PICS!!

While using glycerine works perfect if you don't have a fogger or hazer yet. But you have to be careful with it (I would monitor the temp because like people have stated before it will create toxic fumes) The hassle of getting glycerine on a regular basis will probably cost way more then just spending 25 Euro's on a fogger.
It will be easier in the long run to just plug it in wait a few mins and fill the room with fog. sure a 25 euro fogger wont last ages but for 25 euros it probably way better then heating glycerine.
