    Default 110v Plug wanted

    Hi all

Does anyone in the UK know where I can buy a plug that will fit the middle socket on this photograph?

Ideally i'd like a plug that can be split apart to put my own wire into.

If anyone has something like this laying around that they have no use for i'd happily pay for a beer & postage etc. in order to get it to me

    Cheers

    Jem.

    Happy New Year dude!

I think I have a bundle of these as IEC cables in a box somewhere in my warehouse... I'll rummage tomorrow and see if I can find them.
Might have some re-wireable ones as well in the leftovers from the kit I bought off an American lighting co that found European safety laws too strict to work to... if so, I'll send them on but CHECK THEM THOROUGHLY as some of their wiring was a bit
If in doubt... Give it a clout?

That's a standard US grounded socket, isn't it? I can send you a spare I think, with a standard IEC line socket on its other end. RS Components might sell some wireable plugs. Bulgin, if they make any, is a firm to watch for. The quality will be good.

Cheers Keith, Karl and Doc, much appreciated. If anyone needs my address give me a shout by PM.

@ Keith, it's for the 110v Le Maitre Mini Mist I bought. I took your recommendation and hunted down one of these little PSU's, it's coming from the States, should be here next week all being well.

Nice Jem! It's an impressive little machine. You have to be careful allowing others near the button though, as you can black out a room rather easily

Kinda funny. I never thought much about the fact it would difficult to find something like that over there. But then again... I guess we don't have your style plug that's easy to find anywhere either. And they're things that generally would amount to pence. Some heavy duty ones might be a couple pounds. Happy to send you one if your source doesn't come through.

Thanks again all. I opted to get the one from eBay as it menat that no one had to put themselves out.

It was Keith (Galvonaut) that got me interested in a LeMaitre 'Mini Mist'. He had one at the last UKLEM and I couldn't believe the amount of fog it could kick out. Shortly after the Lem I saw one for sale on eBay, it was 110v. However, I got it at what I thought was a reasonable price. Then I had to set about finding a suitable 1Kva step down transformer, I 've been using a one of the big yellow ones used on building sites (damn heavy). Keith had a nice small transformer and i'd been keeping my eyes open for one on eBay. Eventually I found one but the postage to the UK was an absolute killer, anyway, after much negotiation with the seller a deal was struck and it's now on its way to me

I'm looking forward to marrying the two items and then i'll have a nice small unit capable of some pretty good output
