    Default scanner options?

There are scanners with different speeds, from 15 to 60 kpps from what i know.

But which are the 'best' quality scanners? Im not talking about the speed, but overall quality.

For 40 kpps i know there are few options: DT40, DT40W and PT40. Which one is better?
For 60 kpps i've heard about 'CT60', but cant find information on the internet. Maybe it can display more points, but that aside maybe quality is worse compared to DT40 and maybe DT30 is better quality than PT40.

What do you guys think? I want as much points as possible, but i also want smooth scanning.

What are you projecting, beams or graphics? Pro, semi pro, hobby? What scan angle do you need?

DT are better than PT, prolly the best of the Chinese.

DT30 are fine for most applications were you choose 2 of 3 params: speed, accuracy and scan angle.
DT40 are just a little faster than DT30.
DT40W wide are a little faster and wider angle, but more $$$$.

PT are fine for beams, all though don't expect them to last forever. My 2 sets make noises and scan angle is way smaller than the DTs.

Better options are Cambridge, Eye Magic and the soon to be available Pangolin scanners. It comes down to expectations and budget.
    This space for rent.

Hi dnar. Im interested in graphics. Price below $1000 is fine. Scan angles from 8 to 20 is good.

PT are fine for beams, all though don't expect them to last forever.
Thank you for telling me. How long have you had yours?

Im lost in their websites. Where can i get a list of their scanners with specifications and prices? Thank you.

Your best bet for perfect graphics in your price range is the Eyemagic EMS-4000. I just installed two pairs and they just outperform any other existing scanners (apart Cambridge) in term of accuracy and reliability.

They are tuned at 30-31k @8deg and at that speed the ILDA test patterns are perfect, both 12k and 30k ones. You can turn up the speed with that pattern to around 45k without any distorsion of the image (apart the circle inside the square), so I won't be surprised that you should be able to retune the amps to reach these speed...

Doesnt seem that great to be honest. DT40 can do 40k at 8deg from what ive read. Maybe there is more distortion with DT, but from what ive seen and user comments its pretty good.

I have a set of those DT40 that I plan to replace with the new EMS-8000 (60k) from Eyemagic. So maybe if you think they are sufficient for you, it would be a great deal
