Default A good quality laser Power Meter.

    Hi All,

All in the title, i'm looking for a good laser power meter, like Coherent FieldMaster, Thorlabs PM100, etc... with thermal sensor 0.25->11µM and resolution 10mW min, 10W max.
I'm writing in reference to the top of the market, but I am open to any proposal.
I can spend on the purchase of $400 to $1000 depending on the product.

    Make me an offer.

Out off subject: i have many, many, many...electronic component for sale (half milion of parts) and i start to sell on Ebay, but it is very difficult to list everything and make lots, if you have any interest, please send me a MP. Look for my pseudo seller: christophe7137 on Ebay.fr

i have an old model ARG LPM (i think it's a prototype). ARG makes good quality products and the Ophir heads are excellent.

suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.

This is the only one at the top of my wish list. ams09 maybe you already got one those heads mixed in with those half a million parts lol.... then it's just the cost of the unit. I didn't see a ton of reviews on this one either however.... I'm willing to gamble that this fits my needs and much much more. Winni has a couple models too at goldenstarlaser.com. Thorlabs and Coherant $ound$ like $oooo much monie$ are they even in these price ranges?

    Hi guys

It is worth to keeping the dream of a finding a second hand Coherent and Thorlabs meter alive. I bought a Coherent FieldmaxII that was a year old from Marc (gottaluvlasers) as he was upgrading. It wasn't cheap but it was a good price for a still fresh meter and head that I knew came from someone I trusted.

What is worth doing is to constantly check ebay and I mean constantly. They come up surprisingly often but if your not looking, sure as eggs, one will have sold for a bargain a week before you checked. If you are patient, at the right place and time, you will find something nice in that budget. Check with some of the specialists surplus equipment sites too. I kept doing google searches for the model I was after and they appear on the sites like these from time to time. Be prepared for the search to take a few months but something sweet will turn up.

Also maybe speak to juntronix (has ebay store too) he has been around a long time and comes across a lot of surplus laser and optical equipment. Maybe worth asking him to keep an eye out for anything that crosses his path.

Also the calibration costs are pretty high. Here is Australia, you need to send them back to the US. This makes it often not worth it. The good thing for us it that it means that second hand ones with out a current calibration certificate can be quiet cheap. I can't remember who I was speaking to,but I think I remember them saying the "drift" of these quality meters and heads is in the order of only 1-2% so totally fine for us.

Hopefully our experienced friends will chime in and confirm this so it's more than just my misguided here say.

    Good luck.

There haven't been any reviews on PL so far as I know. One user did a review on LPF.

You can reduce the drift greatly by putting the meter in a sealed bag with normal ambient temps. The drift greatly depends on the time and conditions it was stored in. Most meters that are well cared for will experience little drift.

    Hi all,

I read many documents last week about the LPM, and in fact whatever the manufacturer, they have many functions that I never use.
I'll save some $, turning to our Canadian friends, with a preference for Rubicon (sorry Jerry ) Version 10W, complete with Ophir head.
I already have an old LPM Ophir (Unknown model), analog 0.03 W to 30W in 7 scales, and 150W head ( if that i can read is OK... ),
but I have a problem measuring red and with some switching power supply of DPSS lasers that affect the measurement.
So ARG if you can contact me for more ...You have a new customer...

Thank you all for your advice and guidance.

    Best regards from France.

OMG.... For sales recommendation i'll have a large discount when I buy mine. J/K ARG!
Ams09 if you find a little time maybe you could write a small review. I think this will be a great unit. Best wishes.
