Laser Warning Selling : Arctos - 12W RGB - Nice pics inside !

    Hi there,

I'm putting some of my laser equipment on sale, starting with an Arctos 12W RGB laser system.

I'm not gonna make a long text here, but there are the basic info :

    Located in France (Lille)

Projector run time : A bit less then 1200H

    Projector Original power : 12W ( 3W red, 6w green, 3W bleu )
    Projector Actual power : 4W ( 2W red, 1,5W green, 0,5W bleu)

Scan : CT 6800 with Arctos driver

Projector was use in a fixed instal, so the outside case is in really neat condition.

Price : Make some serious offer, this cost over 35K new ... !

Official company sell, so you'll get a proper bill, and shipping can be done world wide !

    Now, pictures ...

This is a very sexy projector!

    Just a couple friendly comments.

    1) If you are advertising this for sale as a "12W" projector, it should be 12W. I understand and appreciate that you put the corrected, actual power in the original post and thats a great sign of your integrity. However- I think some interested buyers *possibly* may get a little annoyed seeing it advertised as a 12W, but then stating its only outputting "X"W. Just my opinion.

    2) Might want to tell people (if you know) *why* the power has degraded so much? 1200 Hours is not alot of hours for a solid state projector. ESPECIALLY an Arctos projector. It seems as if this is outputting less than half its rated power. Any ideas why? Is it very dirty? (You'd be surprised how much dirty optics can degrade output power). Again, just my opinion. If i was going to be interested in buying this, I would SERIOUSLY be concerned with this degraded power.

    3) Is any sort of safety system installed in this? i.e.- safety board? shutter? delays? Interlocks? *NOT* preaching safety or CDRH or anything like that- again, it is just important information that i think any interested party would be inclined to ask you.

    4) Was it maintained professionally? (cleaned, realigned, dust blown out...etc).

    5) what are the wavelengths? (if you put this, i apologize. I am on Ipad and dont feel like scrolling all the way up. especially cuz so pic heavy.)

These are, in my opinion, important points that should be covered and explained. any interested party with the kind of money to offer you for this *should* be asking questions like this.

Beautiful projector. great pics and good luck with the sale.

Thank you gottaluvlasers for all the tips, I'm gonna try to answer has good has possible

To be honnest, I have no idea at all why the power droped that much. I have clean all the optics, but it wasn't durty at all, since the case is really well sealed.
Up to know, it was used in a club, in a close box with it's own AC units. Nothing more ... Nothing that would make such a power loss.

I haven't taken apart the electronics section of the projectors, I don't want to spend to much time on it, otherwise I would try to fix it myself, but I unfortunatly don't have the spare time for that ...
It's has for sure a Shutter, witch is visible on my picture.

It never got mainted particulary since it was first sold, appart from a fan clean, that's it.

Wavelenght is 450, 532 and 642 Forgot that point ...

For me, what it needs is someone with really good laser knowledge, and spare time, that could, if needed, change the laser diode, and check the green, and could make a beast out of it

On your photos we can see that some diodes do not emit or emit weakly
I have no idea at all why the power droped that much.

i say bin that power meter get a better one , give all the optics a clean, and try power reading
cant see you getting a big offer on a machine thats showing either signs of dying or got dirty optics and you having the lid open in a room full of fog not to clever
the fog going is to jump on those optics like a magnet while on
When God said “Let there be light” he surely must have meant perfectly coherent light.

"On your photos we can see that some diodes do not emit or emit weakly"

Yes sure, it's visible on some,, but I still have nio idea why a projectors from sucha good brand, after 1200H of running time, has diode in that state ! Over current ? Wrong cooling ? No idea ...

My old coherent powermeter works perfect, since foreever It's the only one I have up to 10W, otherwise laserbee, but only 2500mw max ... And the projectors loks like 4W, when I compare it to other system I own...

15mins of open top with a bit of fog isn't gonna make the optics dirty to the point of loosing 8W

1,200 hours is child's play for diodes. Firstly you need to check the power sources and drivers. If they are all ok (voltage, current) - this means that the diodes have died. I believe that green could lose power during this time, but the diodes ....

Yeah I know, but what I see are diode at the end of there life, and since bleu, green and red are affected by the power loss, I don't think it's a power suply problem, it's just that the unit it's, right now, at the end of it's life ... after 1200H of power on time (counter still working even with no laser output)

Nevertheless, I would check it. I know a couple of Arctos projectors that work 10-15 hours per week since 2008...
