Does anyone here use the Eye Magic 8000 scanners? how do you like them? how do they compare to others with similar performance/price?

I use EMS 7000 with 7mm mirrors and very happy with them. Really fast and precise, and what I really like is that the speed and precision remains excellent even when scanning at big angle.
There's a big thread about these scanners, if you have enough time to read that may be interesting.

What's the difference between the 7000 and 8000?

suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.

The difference between 7000 and 8000 is (quote from the manufacturer):

"The 8000 are the updated 7000. New scanner body (stainless steel) new stronger motor, new servo card etc… The difference is ‘’smoother’’ graphics and lower power consumption (less heat). Same price."

Don't ever let anyone tell you that native americans have no grasp of precise plurality.

(I don't know where the hell I heard that notion, it had something to do with language, maybe. And it's a daft notion coming from a culture whose scientists were the last to accept the 'zero'.)

About these EMS8000's, and DT40's... Where on this continuum might WideMoves be, in general reckoning? Actually, in terms of accuracy rather than raw speed..

Well I didnt include WideMoves because i didnt have the option for them. Projector is coming with DT40's and I could upgrade to EMS8000. That projector has already been built though. So this will be for the second one or maybe the 5watt

Are you referring to Zero or the concept of Zero? haha

my projector has dt40w's in it. they work pretty well. there's a little oscillation on some of the patterns, but it's totally acceptable.

check out my videos on youtube, if you're interested in seeing how they perform: https://www.youtube.com/user/swamidog
