Thumbs down Give it a rest already!

You're making it worse by continually dragging up the past.

If you have a problem with his PM's, handle it via PM's, not here in the forum.

As Laserbee said above, to date his posts here have been largely on-topic and helpful. Certainly there hasn't been anything that would count as blatant trolling. Yet you and a few others continue to drag up old drama from LPF. That's just as bad (if not worse) than trolling. Stop it.

As for the ignore list, why don't you add him to yours? That would also solve the problem wouldn't it?

I responded to his ridiculous statement in post #27. Maybe YOU don't see his posts as trolling, but I do. Look at his post count over there. Look at his post count to date here as a new member. This guy has nothing to do all day but post, regardless of the value of the content. I'm not the one making blatantly false statements about the past. He is. I'm NOT obligated to "ignore" anyfreakin'body anywhere. HE is, again based on his own statement in post #27 and before that.

And it's NOT "old drama from LPF" being discussed here. It's NEW drama brought on by HIS unnecessary and fully insulting PM to me, here, yesterday.

How many times do you have to be told that "over there" doesn't matter? Jesus man, give it up already.

From your post above, it's clear that old feelings from LPF play a large part in your reaction here. Get over it.

If you have a problem with his PM, then deal with it in a PM. We don't want to read about your shit here. If you have a personal problem then deal with it privately. For Christ's sake, you sound like a damned 6 year old. Grow the fuck up already.

And your post helps, how? I DID respond to his spam via PM. Bringing it up here was just to cite an example. And my post count comment was about his post count HERE, not THERE. If you could "get over" your blinding hatred of me, maybe you'd have seen that, and wouldn't be amplifying his trolling activities here as well.

He, and apparently you, see yourselves as authority here. I respect your position, not his delusion. But I'll not "just get over it" as you keep advising, simplistically. And I don't give a fuck about what you think about what I post here.

I have no blind hatred for you, or TechJunkie for that matter.

I have a blind hatred for needless drama, which you can't seem to avoid. See the difference?

PM sent to move this off the forum.

I feel responsible for wrecking this thread, so will try to get back on topic, and resurrect. I apologise to the forum for my outburst earlier.
FDA is now grouping pointers with projectors in the harmful catagories (4th paragraph bulleted section) :

To be honest, there is increased pressure in the UK to regulate laser shows as well - particularly audience-scanning shows. Part of it is the result of a few high-profile events recently, but most people say it's something that's been coming for a while now. I hope cooler heads will prevail, but I'm not very optimistic about it.

I also agree with Marc's proactive approach. It's easier to stop a bad law before it's passed than it is to get a bad law struck from the record after it's been implemented.

Yes, Marc's is good advice. Proactive is always better than hindsight being 20/20. (no pun intended)

I agree that there will be more regulation in shows because of the specific issues of DJ's and other people not knowing or caring enough to do it right. When I said I thought the UK govt would do nothing without more data in the case of pointers I was basing that on knowing that they take the issues separately. They'd have to, knowing that a member of the public is likely to take a pointer into a club. As the club owner can't be expected or relied on to police this without the legal right to strip search every punter one by one, govt would rightly separate the issues and responsibilities.

It's entirely likely that they might attempt to pass one bill at the same time as another, to raise publicity and save time and effort. But that just means they'll delay one until they cannot afford to delay the other. It would probably be a general laser safety bill but it would have separate parts, separate controls, etc. If they do not do it that way they'll end up making an industry pay for the dodgy importers, and there's more than enough money in the show industry to take legal action, even against a government, if they do that. When govt hasn't got money or time for that, they'll not rush into it like fools. Ok, maybe they are foolish on these issues, but the UK govt is Bean Counter Number One, and they won't risk expensive losses.
