Not too bad, definitely an improvement over the 500mw Mitsubishi
The emitter size is below.

Just need a 588nm now at a price that means you don't have to sell your arms or legs (or kidneys).
OK,
Just returned from P. West (definitely worth the trip). Oclaro's new 700mW diode looks good. The pricing will depend on the source and I have no idea where that will be. They will almost certainly be better than the P73 with an emitter in the slow axis that is 1/2 as wide and they are canned. The way the power output is specified, with a temperature component, makes me think the power output when over driven and cooled will be similar or a little better than the P73, but not revolutionary. I also was able to learn from their head of sales that (I was right) the video projection market is hot for multi-watt reds and a 1W is in development and will precede the next P. West and a multi-watt is in the works. They DENIED any other wavelength products in the yellow orange and would not confirm any 520nm work. The conclusion I draw is that the march toward higher and higher power diode lasers is not slowing and even if they are not the ones the major competitors in this market will be bringing out diodes within the next 6-18 months that will be exciting.
Yes, its not hard to imagine that if they've kept the output roughly the same and nearly halved the emitter size over the P73, then double the emitter should give double the power out of the same size emitter as we are taming now.
Good things afoot

I am going to be ordering a few of the Oclaros either from the manufacturer (through one of their distributors) or from DTR. I will test them as I want to install a quad of them in the "Saturn" projector.
Found another spec sheet on oclaro website seems the specs have been reviewed a little ,and also show it has a1w pulse rating now http://www.oclaro.com/datasheets/OCD...MG%20Rev.2.pdf
When God said “Let there be light” he surely must have meant perfectly coherent light.
I'll be watching this with interest, I have 2 dual reds to get built a bit later this year.
