Uk-laser (robin) wired up a motor with a mirror glued on and a 445nm diode to a spare rc channel
It does as far as I am concerned! You guys are ahead of the pack.

Full rgb of at least 1w for you guys then
And beam must be scanned by a least one moving mirror

    Ok Adam,
Remember the quadcopter that I brought to FLEM with the GoPro? The gimbal is gyro stabilized and the quad is lit up for night flying. Remove the GoPro (only held with Velcro strap) and replace with a small projector. As long as the projector is roughly the same size and weight as the GoPro we will have a very stable platform to use. I can even tap 12 VDC off the main battery to run the projector.
    We have to do this!!!!
I can provide the platform if someone can build a small projector.

Lets show the Brits how we do things in the US. Lol

Anyone got a small direct-diode projector that weighs about the same as a go-pro? I remember Andrew (Laserlackey) had one of those small units from LPF that had the spinning mirrors in it set up at the NWLEM back in January. Wonder how heavy that thing was?

I have one of those. I thought we would go with something a little better than that. I will set up the spiro projector on the quad tonight and take some pics.

I did some testing after work and found out that the GoPro weighs 3.5oz and my spiro projector weighs just under 6oz. The gimbal is designed for the GoPro. It would't stabilize with the spiro projector mounted to it so I Velcroed it to the frame and did a test flight in the back yard. Don't worry the lasers were off outside. It flew just fine with the extra weight. I think we have a contender to bring to SELEM.

You all / we all AIN'T RIGHT ~
but that is TOO cool, Chris!

Dang, you guys are tempting me to blow off my vacation days for Thanksgiving and come to SELEM instead!!

    Chris -
What length are the LED strips you're using, and where did you get them?

I found some at the LHS to use on my 350 QX, but at 1 meter each, I would be tossing more than half of the length once I cut them to fit my quad ...

Also, what gimbal are you using?

    Thanks -

Heya, I have been talking to a work mate about the flying projector. Is there any footage of the one with the single casio diode and off centred mirror?
I would love to bust that video out @ smoko time.

Well..... duh! Thanksgiving is NO excuse for giving up SELEM. It happens every year and has been for well over 200 years! This is only the 8th SELEM to have occurred in that same time period. It's a very rare, not to be missed, event. One to tell stories to your grand children about.
