In theory it should be fine

But I think you may have some issues soldering the existing antenna wire onto that connector,I doubt it would survive the heat needed to solder the outer braid to the connector

Might be a better approach to purchase a pre-terminate connector and solder it the the PCB

    andy

how about going north with the receiver antenna onto garage ROOF

the signal is being distributed by camera fine it appears , but just cant get
past door , im pretty sure by your description the signal is flying by you
above the garage roof , so maybe extend the receiver antenna to outside of roof

Not sure extending , making bigger , more power the SENDER would help too much
more a case of just picking up the already distributed signal

go north my friend , go north :-)

As like Lasermad said, I assume you are doing this to the receiver and not the sender

although i agree with you both, when i did some testing in my back garden along side the garage i only got signal about a metre next to/inside the garage. so even if i did go up i would still need to improve the signal being sent from the camera first.

my garage is about 10 metres long

ok well got the new aerial fitted and things are looking better, I now have signal in the back garden and in the garage with the door closed.

its a bit patchy but its a good start
