Well, I have heard the expression that less is more. In this case, I will have more of less. I have given up on big power so that I may have tight single-mode beams with stellar modulation for perfect graphics and projections. After my first DI build, I was so impressed with the performance of these diodes (DTR's kit) that I am FINALLY going through with my master plan. I am going to build 4 of these guys and run them all from Beyond, 1 of them from my QM card and the other 3 from individual FB3s. Yes, they are probably only going to top out at 1/4W each, but I will have 4 of them with the ability to project complex graphics as well as "Laserium" style, complex abstracts.
I just pressed all the holes today. I just need to mill down a channel to drop the height of the scanner block. Once that is done, I can start bolting everything down and get it all tuned in.
Once I get all 4 built, I am going to start a build thread for the rest of the master projector, which is going to have DMX selectable scanthroughs for all 4 heads and a 5 port lumia turret, controlled via DMX.
Projector #2 of 4 is nearing completion. It is amazing how easy these DI diode projectors are to throw together.
