    please do that!!
even if it is just a side by side photo with a "normal" 445nm diode...

I bet each diode will be different from another even in the same batch so this might have to be done on a case by case basis making it really hard to do
Probably not enough to negate the benefit. If you look at a far field, well focused spot, the aberrations that diodes of a particular type share are pretty significant and if removed the remaining part to part variation could remain.

Ok the beam shape and divergance is exactly the same as the 445nm. At first I did not think I could see any difference but after looking closely I can see a slight difference. Maybe just a bit less violet in the color.

I will get some power readings from it later.

Thanks Jordan for the quick posting !
Uh .. I would say that this is a slight disappointment .. almost the same color and brightness as the 445 ???

I think my camera picked it up pretty good in this shot. You can definitely see a little more violet in the 445nm.

Oh, good. Can you take a pic of the beams hitting a wall or surface? Thanks !

The output characteristics are identical. I did however while examining the faint square reflection from the dye notice the color difference much better than when looking at the beams. They are definitely more blue where the 445nm has some purple in it. What I wonder is if these come off the same production line. I know LED and LD manufacturers do sell them in lots binned by wavelength and power.

The small difference in shape is just from not taking the time to focus them perfectly.

I was wondering the exact same thing - maybe the same diode binned by wavelength ..

Ok, so when can you sell them? And what's the price going to be?

You are using Bonetti's defense against me, ah?

I thought it fitting, considering the rocky terrain.
