    I prefer cylindrical lenses to prisms. Though admittedly some have great results with prisms, I've always found them to be quite lossy. I just find cylindrical lenses easier to work with in general as far as alignment and tuning for the beam, and consistently end up with more power in the final beam. Not to say prisms can't get the job done, particularly if you have an abundance of power such as with blue where the extra loss isn't a concern.
