Ok guys, we have less than 30 days before we start this shindig. I'd like to get the schedule finalized so I can print up some flyers and such. Does anyone have any more recommendations for the list? There are still many gaps. How about presentations?
Oh... I guess we really should get back to the original post.Oops!
I have an electric T-REX 550 I'm looking to sell. Should I bring it? (wrong thread but seemed topical...)
I've updated the schedule. If there are no recommended changes by next Friday then this is the schedule I plan on having printed and posted on the doors of the theater. I left a couple slots open for special presentations. If you have anything you'd like to show and discuss in the theater, now is the time to speak up.
I'm still trying to wrap my head around it and figure out what I have to play and how much of a time block. I have lasers set up today in the ballroom for a wedding and nothing in the hall until next Saturday so I'm just going to leave them up and sort through content again. When buffo was here, we discovered a few shows with incomplete music so I want to get things tested again beforehand. More importantly, I see SELEM doorprizes on Friday afternoon. Doesn't/shouldn't that be on Saturday? Those that are coming for the weekend may not have even arrived by 5pm and, you've already done door prizes.
I haven't seen many/any replies in this particular thread from people having things of their own they specifically want to play. What i know is: Swami's stuff, David Kumpula has stuff and of course you have what's listed. Has anyone else expressed interest in running anything? I suggest have Swami go twice as not everyone may be able to make it at one time or the other. Since you have 4 hours blocked for LSX, maybe the first slot on each day (I think it was Friday/Saturday).
Hey Brad, regarding the door prizes, I just figured if someone won something that would give enough time to figure it out at SELEM. I didn't think about the folks that weren't getting there until Saturday. I've changed the schedule to have the door prizes on Saturday and moved one of the presentation slots to Friday. If there's no one that wants to take up those slots for presentations, I guess we could add more time for LSX, Spaghetti or beam shows? Let me know!
Hey DZ! Apologies for being slow to respond on this topic, but typical Summer madness has been keeping me busy of late.
I'll volunteer to coordinate the LSX material unless someone else wants the job. I will have 6 DACs with me for anyone to play LSX or Medialas shows. Even combining material from Swami, Lulighttec, and our other LSX authors, I doubt well have more than 3 hours of material.
As for the other slots, I'd really love to see material written in Phoenix that isn't duplicative with the other LaserShow derivatives. Some of the other less known packages would be great to see as well. I'll bet Brad could fill in several hours with content most of us have never seen.
I don't know if it's appropriate to list as a topic request here as opposed to the main SELEM threads, but it would be really cool to have a few content creation tips and tricks sessions. Swami and DrLava's presentation on LSX was well received as well as Bill's nice overview of what was new with Beyond. I'll bet several of the SELEM participants could advise on topics like frame design, optimization settings, advice on running live shows, etc. They could even be round table discussions if no one wants to lead the discussions.
Lumia interest appears to be rebounding over the past two years, so some time and/or examples would be a fun topic. Greg has lead interesting discussions previously, and I would love to hear about recent advancements and some of the mystical lumia contraptions dating from decades past.
Just some thoughts. . .
David
"Help, help, I'm being repressed!"
Hi David, that would be fantastic if you could handle coordinating the LSX stuff. Right now I have LSX in 4 one hour time slots on Friday and Saturday. Does that work for you or would you like me to move them around and/or add more one hour time slots? If it's at all possible, can you try to have a defined style of shows in the time slots? Something like, classic rock or whatever. There really doesn't need to be "LSX" specific time slots, really I think it should be the genre. If it's too much of a hassle don't worry about it, just a thought.
