Ray...
I didn't get a manual w/ my DT-40's either. I'd appreciate that link to the online manual, if you don't mind posting it.

I second that!
Thanks, Max
Hi Adam and others..
Here's hoping I get this right.. haven't quite mastered all this attachment stuff yet.
The manual isn't all that great but it does cover some of the points I have seen come up for discussion re input connections.
Suggest you also study the schematic put on this thread by Yaddatrance ( a real good effort for us all here) showing very good detail and you will see the input circuitry very clearly.
Still if you are stuck just send a PM to Jian725 he answers real quick if you can follow some of his detail.
Cheersfrom downunder..

Thanks Ray!
Looks like the attachment worked just fine.
BTW, I'm not currently experiencing any problems with my DT-40's - I just wanted a copy of the manual for reference.

Hi Max.
On my power supply, its marked
first and second terminals are hot and neutral, either way will work
third is ground.
fourth is (-)
fifth is (ground)
sixth is (+)
Hope this helps

Thanks Marconi!
Yeah I noticed the markings but they dont specify whether or not the AC neutral and hot are suppose to be in a certain place. But you cleared it up, thank you.

Hi ,
Just another quick point.. you will notice in the DT40-Pro manual its states very clearly that the amplifiers require cooling and that you should fit a small computer fan !!
This came up for discussion on another thread.
I pm'd Jian and he now states that they do NOT require a fan (but do require a heat sink) so go figure.
Is this "product development" on the fly ?
I should mention I haven't even turned my ones on yet so its not a criticism of the DT40's but rather a comment on how confusion rains when even the guy who makes them gives out contradictory information.
Jian's reply..
The galvo don't need any fan.
The driver also don't need fan,BUT must install the driver in the case or a big heat sink.
Do you understand?
Jiannope not really !
Anyway just another piece of info' to confuse us all !!
Cheers

Well..
The galvos has an heatsink on when you receive it! So there is no need to install a fan on them. He ment the drivers can be mounted on a big heatsink! His english is not the best but we understand.![]()

Hi Cruch,
Thanks for the reply.
I think it must be my Kiwi English that's causing the confusion maybe.
My point is not whether or not the amplifier needs a fan but rather that the manufacturer has two stated positions on this.
One in his owners manual saying that the amplifier does need a fan !! and one via PM that states the amplifier does not need a fan!!
Getting it wrong may become expensive I guess is one of my points.
Re the Galvo, by the way. The fact that any device has a heat-sink fitted is, in itself ,absolutely no guarantee that this is sufficient on its own. (might be, might not be.. could depend on how and where you mount it and many other factors etc etc)
A lot of my work is in professional audio power amplifiers complete with large heat-sinks and fans !!..
Anyway thanks for the input..
Cheers
