This is my "poor-mans" dichro mount-
its made out of part of a heatsink. The dichro is epoxied in.
The black dot in the middle of the lens is a blown pixel on my webcam-
I have no idea how that happened..

URGENT: I am working out in my machine shop making some dichro mounts that are copies of the Thorlabs that Astroguy has in the picture a couple of posts back. Could anyone that has these mounts or similar ones tell me what the size and threads per inch is on the adjusting screws?
I don't really have a good feel for how touchy the adjustments are since I have never done it. I'm mounting a dichro in it and need to mix a red and green beam. The smallest tap I have is 4mm x 0.7 (36tpi). But I also have some really nice 6mm x 1 (25tpi) set screws with ball bearings on the ends.
So, do you think these will be fine enough or do I need to order some stuff?

Well, OK, I am an idiot because if I had just read the post above the pictures I would have seen that it says 60tpi adjustement screws. haha.
I just found a 6-40 tap in my box of stuff so it'll do.
But, if anyone still wants to comment on my above question please do!

If you ordered 100 it would take me a two years to make them all. haha. Thanks for the compliment.
I like it. Elaborate. I like the springs idea. I want to do something in a much more confined space to mount a beamsplitter cube, I'm not sure if I can find space to arrange the springs like that, and I'll have a hard task coming up with anything different that can work as well, given the space I allowed for it. On the upside, I have an idea that will maybe get by with a single spring. It won't ever look that good though.
Well, I can't really claim the design. I stole it from the ones in the pictures I saw. Actually, the EO website even had a drawing with all measurements given so jusy copied what they had as best as I could.
Now that I have a mount, I have a question about my dichro. Depending on which angle I tilt it, it looks red or blue. It is a 45deg red reflecting dichro. Does it matter what angle I have it at? In other words, does it matter if it looks blue or red from the perspective of the red laser that is striking it? When I shine my laser on it I don't see much of a difference when I change the angle but without a power meter I have no idea if there is one.
