I've dabbled a bit (VERY small scale!) with the LOR (Light-O-Rama) system used in the video ~
As colouredmirrorball mentioned, the channel count rises dramatically once the RGB LED pixel displays come into play.
It's not unusual to see projects in the LOR forums that involve many 10's of thousands of channels of RGB LED's.
Just the thoughts of the programming required is mind-boggling!
I'll be happy just to get my 16 LOR channels synced with my dozen or so DMX fixtures and a few laser projectors in Beyond...
