suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.

Holiday Inn Express - we're getting a group rate again. Suites are $120 and standard is $101. You may speak with Mike at the front desk and tell him you're part of the FLEM laser group. Our code last year - should they need to look it up is LEX.
The front desk number is: 1 (352) 742-1600

Aaron, DZ, and some others will be heading to Ocala, Florida (just under an hour by car from the venue) to look at a bunch of surplus laser gear. It's mostly ion lasers, power supplies, and assorted optics, but there is some specialized gear as well (including possibly a tube pumping station, cathode reprocessing oven, and even some projectors) along with tons of other stuff. The goal is to get everything out, so the prices will be lower than the best you'll ever find on E-bay. (Aaron can explain why.)

So if you're interested in picking up some extra gear for cheap, plan to go to Ocala on Sunday!

as usual i cant make it but if there happens to be a Dpss laser driver that can run a diode at 4-5 Amp and 2 TEC's let me know.

    Cool

Thanks for setting up the group rate at the Holiday Inn Express, Brad!

Also, just to let everyone know, Jeff Burnsides (RGB-Gas) will be joining us late on Friday, and will probably head over to Ocala on Sunday with DZ and Aaron too. And I hear that DZ will be bringing a special guest with him...

Just over 1 week to go people! This one is shaping up nicely. See you all real soon!

    Erm... You don't.

The venue is really cheap (less than $200), so I just pay it out of my pocket. Some one else will buy some sodas, and yet another person will buy some chips, or some pizza... It all works out in the end.

That's kinda what I remembered but, this turning 50 thing means I have to second guess myself more frequently. On the flip side, life begins at 50 and you begin to say "fuck it", I'm going to blow off work to go to the Caribbean and scuba dive.... or see Blue Man Group.... or... who knows what. maybe hang glide or something.

Or maybe take a ride on this thing: http://www.magicalmidway.com/sling-shot/

After all, it's just a couple blocks from Universal. We could do that before the concert. Lose your cookies before you eat dinner!

(Think we could get Mark on it as well?)

Oh, hell yeah. I have video of a couple of my staff doing that last summer at Six Flags Great Adventure.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HPBPcWafaL8 (not them but, the ride itself)

This one may be taller but, same premise. It was only a two seater. Does this one have three? I'm going to guess that it won't be Mark's thing but, I'll let him speak for himself. I, on the other hand, have my official Six Flags Coaster Team jacket actually out in my car.

But at Universal you can get a excellent rollercoaster and fireman rescue all at the same time: http://www.mynews13.com/content/news/cfnews13/on-the-town/article.html/content/news/articles/cfn/2015/3/24/guests_pulled_off_hu.html

Seriously, I grew up in the Orlando area and always thought Universal's Islands of Adventure was the best park in the area, but as I have a young child now, Epcot and Disney are on next week's itinerary instead of the "scary ride parks".
