TY for mentioning my help with the food in the past... just like Brad i get great pleasure when someone likes my cooking..

I am resigned to not making my 6th SELEM-
I will be back in 2016

IF anyone is able to stop in Philly and pick up Dr Sam he wants to do SELEM again- Laserman 121 is working on this- the rides are the only real hard part to put together- the rest will happen once you have the rides down-- and AFAIK Sam would go even if the ride did not appear until the last days-- Sam does not drive- especially at night- and the ride needs to be with no strings-- Any others that are willing to help can donate funds to Zach so the room etc can be paid for as well-

Sam sez he can cover some of that- he has always been willing to make a speech but in the other two times we opted for just one on one convos with the good doctor.

any smallish item sam has FS at Sam's classified he can bring for you to buy in person- (cash only)I got a yellow HeNe form him that way..and got him to autograph it ha ha

sales will also give Sam more $$ in hand to cover some of the expenses- in the past we have been able to cover nearly 100% - but some who promised to help out never followed thru with that, while others gave MORE than a fair 'share' - thats history-

so if you have never met him or want to say thanks for all the free adless info at Sam/s laser here is your chance-

about the lodging- IF Sam makes it-- its super easy AT HTE HIE to swap your small room for two into a suite w/ room for four (or more) - you need a suite, of course, with two beds in the bedroom and you need at least one rollaway bed reserved- these are the better or these types and quite comfy-

I have always brought airbeds and the front desk freely gives out bedding- pillows etc.

PM me if i can help with any of the confusing parts- I have handled this for SELEM and Sam twice so i know what to do--

wishing you all another wonderful SELEM I will miss you guys!!
and look for me on 2016

Less that 4 weeks to go, people! I will be finalizing the shirt order next week, so if you don't sign up soon, you won't receive a shirt.

Also, with regard to the LSO class, to the best of my knowledge no one has signed up on the ILDA website yet. If we don't have enough people signed up by the end of July we will have to cancel the class.

I don't even see the LSO class on the events registration page to be able to register for it. It's mentioned on the laserist.org page but not here where you actually sign up. Unless there is another page to sign up at.

Initially we were unsure if Greg Makhov would be available to teach the class, so it was not a part of the first post. It was mentioned early in the thread, however.

Later on, once I was able to confirm that Greg would be available, we posted the information about the LSO class and discussed it here in this thread. People who were interested in taking the class were instructed to contact Patrick Murphy directly. No one has done that as of about 2 weeks ago when I spoke with him.

The hotel has already been contacted about the possibility of the class being held Monday, August 17th, and we have the conference room reserved for that entire day, just in case the class happens. Likewise, Greg has cleared his calendar for that day, although he has not purchased his plane ticket yet.

Patrick was going to add a sign-up link on the laserist.org website, but by the time he got around to doing it there was serious doubt that we would have enough people to make the class happen (since no one had contacted him about taking the course), so he didn't bother. Despite the fact that there were 3 or 4 people here who expressed an interest, none of them actually e-mailed Patrick about it. Furthermore, Greg said we would need 6 people minimum to make the class happen.

I suppose it might have helped to start a separate thread for the LSO class. That's my fault for not doing so. But I don't think the lack of a separate thread is the only reason the interest level is so low this year.

Unless there is a tremendous renewal in interest to attend the LSO course in the next two weeks, I don't see this one happening at SELEM this year. It's really too bad, too. We've offered this class every year since 2011, so this would have been the 4th year in a row. But I think this year we just won't have enough people.

Greg contacted me on Wednesday to ask about the status of the class. He has not heard anything different from Pat since I spoke with him 2 weeks ago. I told Greg I would give it another 2 weeks and then call it.

    Name Tags!!!

It's that time of year when I start to harass SELEM attendees for information. I'm making name tags the same as I've done in the past. They will have your Screen Name, Avitar & Real Name

If your name isn't listed on page 1 of this thread and there is the slightest chance you will be at SELEM, please either PM me or drop a quick post here to let me know.
    This includes guests!

If you don't you will end up with a Sharipe written name tag without your cool avatar and we wouldn't want that now would we?

    Thank you in advance.

So at this point I'm still on the fence on weather or not I can come this summer I have been lied to and screwed out of a job this summer and now I don't have a car to use. (ill explain at selem if I make it)
I have found 2 potential rides down and may be taking greyhound home on Sunday.
That being said the reason I was going to greyhound home Sunday was to save money and not pay for an extra night in the hotel. However After thinking about it greyhound home is $41 but if I share a suite it would be cheaper to stay that extra night.

By the time selem comes around I should have a little more money. The member I am riding down with is staying for the LSO coarse on Monday if there is one. If I don't go home greyhound I will have nothing to do Monday.
Is there anyone else around Monday thats not doing the LSO coarse.

Also on another note Anyone interested in making a 6 hour side trip to chimney rock. Me and BradleyJay Planned on going back this year but thats looking less likely now. Unless we get a group to go.

Thanks for doing this as always, Chris! Will you print two per person again like last year so we can place them back to back . . or perhaps trade one with a friend so that we can play imposter?

I will be printing 2 as I've done in the past so they can be put back to back. No trading or you will face the wrath of "Buffo the Worlds Strongest Clown"!

No one is ever going to mistake you for me.... A second time.
suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.
