Rick, got you on the list! Looking forward to seeing the new, expanded rig!

According Michelle @Holiday Inn, they don't have any rooms blocked out for the dates mentioned here. Offhand, do you recall what the nightly is at the HIE? I seem to remember ~70/night for single room, ~100/night for suite?
Adam or whomever, would you give a call out there or drop an email reservations@hiesuites.com to make sure they know? Michelle recalled the group from years past but couldn't find the reservation block.
D'oh!
I forgot to call them. Sorry!
i just called Michelle, and she said that the new GM (Katie) has already left for the day. So I will need to call back in the morning to set up the group rate and block out some rooms for us.
As before, we will be the "SELEM" group or the "Laser guys", depending on how educated the person at the front desk is.

Patrick normally posts something to that effect, and to be fair we have been able to meet the registration requirement for the past 4 years, but until I hear from Greg I don't want to say for sure that we will be having one again this year. You are the first (and thus far the only) one to express an interest in the LSO class. That being said, I think it would be great if we could get enough people to have another class.
I did speak with the hotel about the idea, and they are holding the conference room for us for Monday, August 17th, just in case. Also, for everyone who is booking a room, we have 25 rooms blocked out at the Holiday Inn Express. Just mention that you are with the "SELEM Laser Group" and you'll get the discounted rate. ($89 for a standard room, and $109 for a suite.)
Can you not fly in on Sunday evening? Charlotte's airport (CLT) is a major hub for US Air; I would think flights would be easy to find.Regardless 8AM on Monday is probably almost impossible for me to fly in for. I'm kicking myself in the back end for missing the Orlando class this year.

Brian Panter is from J&M Displays / Hi-Tech FX in Iowa. He took me on a trip to St Louis for a pyro training course, and then to Joplin to meet Walt Meador where I literally lived in his workshop for a few days playing with his lasers. I'm not sure if Brian is here but he is on facebook and part of the Selem event on there. He is an extremely nice guy and has caught the laser bug (seems to have a lightspace tumor that keeps on growing)
