    Sadly, no, there will not be a public show this year. The town just didn't have the budget. Perhaps next year
    I'm surprised that this cost the town anything. Was this for support such as police or insurance?

    And the 1100 ft of 3 phase power line they had to run, and the distribution box, and the water (which we ended up not using) from the fire main, and, and, and...

    The Soldier's Reunion Festival has been scaled back this year. Way back. Last year they had events every day over 7 days. This year it will be 2 days (including the parade).

    Hey everyone;

    I've been talking with the folks at Pangolin about the possibility of an official "Beyond Training Presentation" at SELEM. This is by no means a sure thing yet, but it might be possible. (Lots of details to work out - not the least of which is the logistical challenge of flying people in without screwing up their prior commitments.)

    So, hypothetically speaking, if we were able to put this on, how many people would be interested in spending several hours (up to half a day) in Club-SELEM learning how to use Beyond from one of the world's experts?

    Well duh!!! Sign me up! (I was just messing with Beyond last night and yelled that I hated it on a few occasions, but it's simply because I don't know enough about it.)

    As you know, I'm not really there for the lasers anyway.

    I'm in if it's on Friday afternoon or Saturday.

    Any chance we might also squeeze in a "Getting the most out of your new EK-DZ Advanced Laser Router" session?

    PS -

    Yes, I'd attend a Beyond session or two (or three). Any idea what the topic(s) would be?

    Hank;

    Probably things like getting the most out of the live cue grid, plus some pointers on using the timeline, the beyond universe, and the abstract editor. We can also ask for specific topics - assuming this actually happens. The guy they are thinking about sending is SERIOUSLY good with Beyond.

    Randy;

    Got you on the list, buddy! As for router training, both Ed and DZ are committed to doing that, in club-SELEM and in the auditorium. So no worries there.

    I guess I'm most interested in how to create effects like you did in Rising and other abstract editor type things. I know you didn't use Beyond.

    eta: I started watching that great online tutorial about creating shows in Beyond, which was awesome,but I only got through a few initial episodes, and never completed it. I have to get back to that.

    who is the guy?
    suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.
