It's "almost" better than being in the plane with Chris. Not quite but, almost. The experience though, is amazingly nearly the same.

    Me too!!!
Bell JetRangers & LongRangers ARE fun (I flew them doing the passenger sight-seeing gig around the Smoky Mountains).
I highly recommend some front-seat time if the wallet can swing it.
Granted, it was much easier to pull off when getting paid to sit in the cockpit!

As cool as those are, this was DEFINITELY "more better" ~
I flew AH-1F Cobras for a couple of years (air conditioning was nice!!), but this was my all-time favorite ride - OH-58D Kiowa Warrior
(I go all the way back to the Cold War & Desert Storm with an early variant of this one, and the latest armed variant was the version I was flying when I hung up the flight suit in '09):

The fleet officially retires this year -
sad end to a long successful era

    Damn -
Everything military I use to fly is now retired.

    Son of a ....

That was excellent! Thx for posting Brad! All of the rotorcraft operational details that I've always wanted to see, but never could. It's hard to believe that's a 1969 model. It looked new to me (to the untrained eye) .

Stuka- sounds like you have some hours under the belt. How many? (fixed-wing and rotorcraft) if I may ask ?

Less than 100 hours fixed-wing, unfortunately (keep intending to remedy that, but I seem to have too many other expensive hobbies!! ).
Most of my rotary-wing time was single-engine turbine.

All total, I have around 5000 hours in the front seats ~
and enjoyed all but maybe 20 hours of it!

    Same here!

Yeah, that's one of the things that always gets me. Kinda scary. It seems like all the planes I've been in and all the ones you see are circa 1960's or maybe early 70's. Commercial airliners, helicopters, and small planes like Chris's. Hell....I'M circa 1960's and I know how IM starting to break down! LOL Did they stop making planes in the 80's and 90's and 2000's???

If you want a little time in a Cessna 150 I know where one will be in August. Not that it's that impressive compared to a military bird but it's all I can afford. Lol!
