I don't think "orphan" is as accurate as "widower" for this 1965 Raytheon model LPS12A ruby laser power supply. He's lost his mate, and stumbled his way into my garage where he got some long needed TLC. He's lost a few capacitors along the way that originally sat on the bottom shelf, and the top panel is also missing. This is the same cabinet style used by Raytheon on its model LPS11, which was the very first commercial laser power supply sold (with the model LH1 head, in 1961). A "New Product Announcement" for it is included, from The Laser Letter of this month in that year which shows a picture of the model LH5 head he lost. Maybe she'll also find her way to me. One can only hope!
