    Abandon all hope, Randy!

This FPV shit is cool as fuck. The only reason I didn't drop $535 on a set of 3D Stereoscopic goggles (complete with dual cameras and the transmitter for the bird) is because 1) they were out of stock, and 2) Marie threatened to beat the shit out of me if I bought another toy before she got her new bedroom furniture. Sigh...

The actual flight kit for the 250 quad is stupid cheap. Like $170 with all the upgrades (plus the cost of the radio, which you no doubt already have). That even included the flight controller! Amazing what these Chinese can do.

But yeah, the money is in the googles. That being said, I went for a ride with Chris (he has two sets of goggles), and later I tried flying it myself, and although I keep denying it to myself, I really must admit that I'm hooked already. (FUCK! Something else to spend money on!)

Although I haven't been under FPV goggles while anyone was doing anything other than basic hovering, I have no doubt I would get into it hard once I took the initial plunge!

Some of the videos from the low-altitude FPV flights give me flashbacks - in a good way - and puts that same stupid grin on my face I had when I was getting paid to experience those views from inside the cockpit...

I'm guessing it's gyroscopic and set up so it self rights into a hover when hands off, if not, that's pretty impressive eyesight and reaction times..

    It could happen ...

The funny thing is I doubt if I would bring anything laser-related other than my laptop and maybe a .NET.
These days, my laser gear generally doesn't get a lot of attention during the flying season, plus I think the gear "needed" for the event is more than adequately covered.

However, I could see bringing along at least three helicopters (360-class and up), a mini-quad, my camera-equipped 350 quad, and whatever other rotary-wing toys might turn up over the summer.

Shame there isn't a runway nearby for the planes ...

Thanks for the info on the V222, the funny thing is i have a a helicopter from a different brand that uses the same batteries, i use them in other projects as well. I made a device to recharge 5 at a time but the one i built has a separate monitor for each battery, the 5x1 adapter they sell looks like a fire wanting a starting place lol I would not trust that out of eye sight.
I have 2 of the V911 helicopters WLtoys for the cost has good stuff, and all the parts are available and cheap unlike some other smaller toys

Maybe that could be the next Build Project on here, a runway for Randy!

It would certainly making getting to SELEM easier for you guys.

Might even see Brad buying planes then!

Anyone who is interested. Here is what I sent Adam.

Below are the links to the parts I bought for my 240 racing quad.
Remember I upgraded the motors & props and added the camera & video transmitter.
The motors it comes with get very hot! Beware I got burned several times. Also Bangood doesn't sell spare frame parts. If you break an arm (and you will like I did), you will have to make another yourself (like I did). It's a kit with almost no instructions. I can help guide you if you need it.
The flight controller it comes with is my new favorite. It took me 10 minutes to set it up. Very easy!
You will need your own Flight transmitter & receiver. It only needs 4 channels.

Motors (upgrade) Note one is CW prop adapter & the other is CCW prop adapter. Other than that they are the same.

Adam... For FPV you can get away with a bright LCD monitor (about $50) that does not
have Blue screen and an Eachine Camera/5.8Ghz Transmitter/Antenna set (about $25).
    A 5.8Ghz Receiver costs about $20-$30.
Hobby King even sells a DIY "Goggles" using an included non blue screen LCD Monitor for
about $30 plus shipping. You really don't NEED expensive goggles to get started in FPV.
