Hey, cool... Another potential buyer for that custom reflect 635 nm, pass 660 nm dichro I researched a while back!

To me that would be a hell of a system. (Red at both 635 and 660) A long time ago Spec posted a drawing of his ideal projector layout that had both a 635nm laser and a pair of 660 nm red lasers in it. Now it looks like that might actually happen! (Back then the stumbling block was finding a supplier for the custom dichro.)

When I can afford it, I'm going to pick up a 75-150 mw 635 nm red diode and see what I can do with it. If I can get 9 other people interested in the idea, I'll order that custom dichro (min 10 pieces, at close to $100 each) and add that 635 nm red to my projector.

Of course, then I'll want more blue... But I've got a blue PBS cube, so that's doable. (I purposefully left room in my projector for a second blue laser!) Then I'll want to increase the power of my green as well. Sigh... Before you know it I'll have re-built my entire projector!

Eh - need to pay some bills first I think!

Still, glad to see you're adding to your rig as well Steve-o! Keep us informed of the progress.

Yeah im up to my ass in hock with some people (an 'accidental-purchase') -not too bad- not non-re-couperable tho- but will put a 473 on the back burner 4 a while tho--hehe
Adam- did you find the magical-mystery cube to separate 630x from 660x?? (I mean dichro )

I have 3 questions easily summed up as:
    1) Output profile?
    2) reliability?
    3) COST?!?

    Cool

Actually, by my last count, it makes 5 of us... So 5 more to go and I can order the dichros!

Seriously though, this isn't something I'm ready to go after just yet. I've got too many other projects to finish first. Maybe in the spring though. I'll be sure to let everyone know about it then...

Yeah some could say I have been making a few 'accidental purchases' lately...

I haven't received it yet BTW... it might be stuck over the weekend... so hopefully I'll get it by Monday. Assuming customs doesn't play with it for a week.

PS. I already cleared room for it on my optical table... I am actually in the middle of removing all the Lasever associated cable runs.

I dont think I've mentioned this before, but the once 150mW lasever has been tested recently... I got a whopping... 11mW I still shake my head in disbelief. I wish I would have purchased a power meter earlier, I might have been able to catch it while it was still under warranty.

If lasever would be willing to fix it anyway... it would be awesome.... HINT HINT HINT or replace it for an equal or better value 473nm laser HINT HINT....

yeah I know fat chance... I thought i would at least try... I'll give lasever a week before I start to dissect it.

Just before someone calls me stupid for not realizing the output drop earlier... I just want to mention that I have owned this thing for about 2 years, and that ownership did not include constant use... I guess over time it just slowly faded before I noticed it was about equivalent to my Leadlight pointer....

    Cool

Contact David Wu (salesx@laseverx.com) and explain the situation. (Note: two X's added to the e-mail to fool the spam bots. Remove the x's and you're golden) He might be willing to help. (Though admittedly he's bad about answering e-mail.)
