It's a bit funky to get set up the first time. I will post back to this message with some instructions for you in a few minutes.
-
Step 1- Download the driver from here: http://ether-dream.com/downloads.html
Step 2 - Copy it into the LFI Player directory. Delete the EasyAudDac.dll and EasyLase.dlls. Then make two copies of the Etherdream.dll and rename them to EasyAudDac.dll and EasyLase.dll.
Step 3 - Run the Easylase version of LFI Player.
Step 4 - Select the Options->Preferences menu item and then check the Laser On check box.
Step 5 - Select File Open->Ilda File and load the ilda test frame.
Step 6 - Click the green Play button. You should then be able to see the test frame.
-
In my case, the word ILDA in the test frame looks terrible as well as several other aspects of it.

You can repeat the above but run the EasyAudDac version of LFI player. It uses the EasyAudDac APIs in that case. The output doesn't look any different for me but it does exercise two code paths. I am only mentioning both ways to run it in case you are wondering if one works and the other doesn't.

works for me, but i notice if you don't have the delay settings correct, the output looks like rubbish. clearly there are some scanning optimization settings to be tweaked, but it does work.
the oscillation in my test patterns is typical dt40w artifacts.
here are some quick crappy photos to demonstrate.
ack. looks like image upload is buggered again.

suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.
Bizarre. That looks normal and nothing like what I get. I would think my projector was hosed if it weren't for the fact that I can unplug the ED and plug in my Riya and then get a perfect test pattern. I'd post pictures but I can't find a way to get my camera to take a long enough exposure to capture an entire frame.

Oh well. I am going to send the DAC back to j4cbo that he sent as a replacement since the result is the same. Anyone who wants to buy my original one let me know. If there is actually nothing wrong with it and it is just me that has a problem you'll get a great deal. dkumpula, don't you need another one to make it an even 10?

Thanks. I would imagine that if there was an issue you would have already noticed it, though.
Gary, is there any way for you to send frames to ED over its network protocol instead of the EasyAudDac driver?
I thought about doing that or at least modifying the existing code that is on github something would be required to fix that log file issue. But, since swami's test seems to indicate there is nothing wrong with the Etherdream DLL as far as output goes, it might just be a waste of time in regards to solving my problem.
