Default Another Old Britt Argon Laser

Here's another classy old Britt model 2000 pulsed Argon Ion laser from 1974. This one looks like it was a custom made unit for Singer Librascope, packaged in a very Darth Vaderish cover. I love the many spirals on these tubes! And I really love it when there's a label on these old lasers that shows the date.

Yeah I was about to ask Bob the same thing. He MAY have one that works; some of these still can. Glassblowing supreme! Phil

There is an internal pump if it does not work and the tube is gas intact. On many of them you can invert the laser head (gulp! Glass is Fragile) and swing out a flexible tube. You then immerse the pump head in LN2, chill the sorption pump down. Then open a valve and pull the Argon pressure down while watching the pressure gauge. Done that one time for a friend. A bit hairy opening the stuck valve with big pliers, but it worked.
