I attribute this to incompetence. But, who knows, you might be right. I, at least have trouble reconciling the ham-fisted performance of so many government practices with such a complex operation. But, who knows?

I would not be surprised if the certificate was a forgery. And, I would not be surprised if in fact his admission to collage and law school were as a "foreign" student. But, I did respond, although not directly.

Someone once said that as soon as Trump takes office, Obama's legacy will be a fart in the wind. I agree and for this reason, one month from his leaving office, I don't care that much. The elite are full of deceit. You could spend pages listing those you know or suspect and you would undoubtedly fall far short of the true list. Let's just walk away and make plans for the future.

I think market pressures will force them to revise their policies or fall victim to competition from open, unbiased alternatives. Ultimately, a uni-polar, echo chamber is boring and less informative. I also believe people are pretty robust, yet any relationship based on misunderstanding or fundamental disagreement, is not destined to last.

I really wish this thread wasn't allowed to go on as long as it has, or ever started in the first place. The only thing it has done is to remove all respect I had for many of the posters on it, especially in light of the birtherism crap now being dredged up from the diseased stinking bowels of propagandists. President Obama is a great man, with ALL of the characteristics that used to be defined as "family values" by conservatives. To continue to denigrate this great president by questioning his citizenship only exposes the overt racism, bigotry, and ignorance (despite the technical competence appropriate here) of those who do it. It's disgusting, and I ask that this thread be removed because of its exclusively negative impacts.

Which means US law was broken, which means his presidency is a lie and his legacy will be remembered as a fraud. I disagree with you profoundly (except maybe something about technical competence). And, this goes to the heart of the current political debate. This is the problem with SJW's, safe spaces and the PC thought police.

I might have missed it, but where was this sentiment of yours when Trump and other Republican candidates were being lambasted in this thread? Comparisons to Satan and Hitler were made repeatedly. It isn't negative only when it is YOUR sacred cow.

I suggest rather that you want to shut down this thread because you have lost the debate. You made a pretty strong statement "this great president". Prove it. I contend (even if he is a US citizen, I don't really care) that he has been one of the worst. I put Woodrow Wilson at the top of that list. If you haven't read much about him, it's interesting and appalling.

Wrong! This is the express purpose of the Lounge. It is for that very purpose that diverse subjects are disused here and not in other categories. Look back through the threads. You will find many, very diverse subjects discussed.

I asked you as well, why no issue with this thread in the thousand odd, previous posts that hit many of my positions VERY HARD? Did you call for that then? If you did, I'm sorry I missed that. However, I did not call for that even then because to answer your initial question; I don't know if any minds were changed and neither do you. But, it has drawn people to state their positions and defend them if they could. This is a learning opportunity even if it only causes the reader to question their positions and to hone their justifications for them.

Even this immediate discussion between you and me is illustrative of our different approaches to controversy. Let the reader decide which they prefer.
