Diet Pepsi over Diet Coke unquestionably. I live on it. But, I prefer Coke over Pepsi. Regular Pepsi is too sweet.

Beautiful design...ordered me a t-shirt...hope it gets here in time (had to pay extra for rapid shipping to make sure)
Went with www.Vistaprint.com
Pepsi preferred over Coke, but either will do once rum is added.
No diet for me thank you!
Stuff I'm planning to bring:
#1. Image engineering video decoders and encoders. A pair goes to funkula. Will have some decoders and VHS tapes for those interested. Undecided if I should bring a decoder + dual ADATs + HD24 + 3/4" VCR. Would be heavy.
#2. Amiga 500 (thanks Cfavreau) running LSD1000!
#3. Luggable Pentium PC running QM32 + Pangolin LD. I have a LPT Laser Illusions but it doesn't work IIRC, and maybe a beta of BoxLaser.
#2 & #3 are hands on museum type stuff, perhaps table in the room outside of auditorium? If anyone has lower power projectors (the amiga is mono no blanking!) this might be a good place for it.
#4. I have two Melles Griot DPSS lasers, the 2.2 watt ones. Mine (I believe) need new IR diode bars. Does anyone have these types of parts? I don't have safety glasses for operation of head open either. Mine are branded Laser Power Corporation. This is one of the few projects I have.
#5 I own two Pluto IIs, I can bring those with 2" non-marring truss clamps.
#6 RGB LED screen, has two C clamps is about 6' wide and 2.5' high. I'm willing to give a talk on this. Assembled from Chinese modules. Can run anything that shows up on the Windows desktop on the screen.
#7. I have two Etherdreams, 1 Beyond FB3SE DAC, 2 x Pangolin 30K FB3s, 1 RIYA DAC. If any of this is needed holla'.
I wasn't planning to bring audio hardware but my repository is:
HD24 w/ lightpipe cables
Mackie TT24 digital console
Yamaha 16 channel mixer
Alesis USB 4 channel mixer
Various mics
QSC amps (3)
DriveRack PA, Behringer crap
QSC CM computer management unit for above mentioned amps
JBL TR series (heavy old) speakers
I have some color kinetics PowerBlast TR-12 36 watt RGB lights, could bring those if uplighting is needed?
I think I have 15 fixtures but they have to be tethered to the power supply that has the computer onboard that talks to the fixtures hooked to it (DMX512 or ethernet for KiNet) Have 2 and a half power supplies.
Technobeams would chew up too much truck space I think, but have 4.
triangle global truss, 8' and 5' sections + two crank stands that don't go very high.
Video production rig: Blackmagic ATEM + LCD monitor Pair + Behringer A to D and 3 non-laser damaged cameras, 2 laser damaged cameras. I have video from a prior selem as well, of all shows that Tribble chopped up. Will bring those files, but cameras were not at optimal refresh.
Not sure which day I'm going to head in.
^ Not sure what the plan is for any truss in the Cafeteria so, while it's a pain, maybe check with buffo to see if any of the Global truss is needed. It could connect with mine but, I think we're getting close to the limit on distance with only two crank stands. I think I have 32 feet.

Ah cool! I'm sure you know this but there are engineering numbers on the truss (always make sure you have this) that show what the center point and evenly distributed load is for the truss. Center point is like one heavy projector in the middle, versus plutos all the way down it. It usually has it marked off in feet of truss.
Also on the crank stands, some of them have the thingy where you can screw in and lock it up. That's kind of good because the metal wire will stretch or something when it's up and it can sag over time I believe? My stands are crappy, magfest has some nice ones but they're so heavy and home made strange things I wouldn't want to try to move em. They're like 200 pounds each :-/ I asked Applied and the load for crankstands is distributed. So if it says 200 pounds supposedly two of them means 400 pounds is okay. Seem a bit odd to me but whatever! I don't worry about flying like two plutos two technobeams and the LED screen or something from mine but no crazy heavy vintage moving heads heh.
There is a theater book of rigging I'd love to peruse but it's $$$$. I forget the name unfortunately.
Hey folks,
Just so everyone that plans on attending SELEM is aware, draft schedules are being posted in the following thread: http://www.photonlexicon.com/forums/...568#post329568
Thank you!

"Help, help, I'm being repressed!"
Ethan, that's a nice collection of gear!
With regard to the LED screen - I definitely want that at SELEM but don't know if we'll have anything to hang it from. We do have truss (two, in fact), but it will be full of projectors. Could you maybe bring one section of truss and a pair of stands just to hold the screen? If not, let me know ASAP and I'll see if Jeff or Brad can come up with something... (maybe a ladder truss?)
Re: the Melles units - speak with George (Dream Beamz) when you're there. He might be able to help.
We should have at least one other HD24 there for show playback, but if you have old-school shows you want to share, then yeah, the HD24 is probably the easiest way to move them...
Bring the Plutos, of course!
As for the speakers and amps, I'll defer to Brad and Jeff... Guys, how are we on sound this year? We probably still want a small sound system (or maybe just a PA?) in the cafeteria... Also, do we need a PA in the gallery? Don't want to load you down, Ethan, but I promise if you bring it, we will use it! (For the record, I'm bringing all my sound gear again, and I think Brad is too. Jeff will hopefully bring his Mackie tops...)
As for up-lighting, I don't know if we need it or not. Brad, are you bringing the stuff you had for the auditorium last year? If not, then it might be good to have at least a coupe. But we don't need (or want) a ton of light in there.
Video production rig sounds awesome, if you don't mind setting it up. Would be very nice to capture everything from the auditorium (and maybe stream it live on the Internet) if you can make it work unattended... Don't want you to be stuck behind a monitor for the duration though! If it's too much hassle, I understand, but if you're there on Tuesday you'll have plenty of help setting it up.
Adam
I can bring a pair of powered PA speakers (Alto's) and a rack mixer. The mixer is the X32 Rack version, so it's not quite as intuitive as a board or knob based rack jobbie. I can bring mics and mic stands also if desired...
Yes, I'm bringing my sound gear and, assuming there is room in the rental, I can bring an extra powered speaker (and mic) for the gallery. Chad is supposed to be bringing sound gear as well and I suggested to him that subs may be a priority.
.
Yes, I plan to bring some uplighting since I recently upgraded all of mine and I am using one style in ClubSELEM and a different style in the auditorium. For the auditorium, I am going to be able to make it easier to turn on and off should people want to AND... although I love the enhancement of the dark blue with lasers, these new ones have UV so, it can give the room a bit of a blacklight glow which is less bright than the blue but still providing enough ambient light to keep from tripping over any cables or anything.
