I guess what I was getting at is back stage sometime the lights are on when people are working and sometimes the lights were off when a show was being played. However if I am looking at buying something I do not want to deter someone from playing a show with the lights off. There is also the social factor that plays in. The BST area typically is quieter and easier to hear people talk. That is where I have heard some of the best stories. If there are shows happening in the same area as BST then there will be music and usually it will be loud enough that having a conversation is not easy. Back stage you will of course hear the music from the amphitheater but I have never had a hard time talking to people back stage at the same time that shows are being played. At the end of the day I will adapt to what ever the outcome is.

I TOO like this...Would like to see it on the front of a T-Shirt. I have two polo shirts... both of which have prior-year SELEM logos...and both Still reside in their perspective plastic packages.
Maybe...this early in the process...we could get some t-shirts in the mix...or...when the final design is decided upon...release the design so's we that desire...can pay to have a custom made that we could wear To SELEM?

Good feedback folks!
Regarding the shirt design, once the winner is picked it will be posted on PL, so anyone is free to use it to make their own shirt design if they want. Although adding a logo to the back of a shirt gets expensive if you want to cover the entire shirt. (The SELEM logo on the front pocket of the shirt isn't too bad because it's fairly small - it has to fit inside a 4 inch diameter circle.)
Regarding the buy-sell-trade area and the cafeteria... I am OK with doing the buy-sell-trade area backstage, if people would prefer that. Then we would move the demonstration, show-and-tell, and repair area into the cafeteria. We can even set up a sound system in there if people would like to run some shows there. Question: If we do this, do we still want to black out the windows in there? Or will the lights be on for most of the time? (It's a lot of work to black out those windows, remember, and Bill Witcher has been the one stuck doing it for the past several years.)
The main "club-SELEM" spot for this year will be the gymnasium. This space will be used primarily for multiple-projector beam shows. Several people have volunteered to bring in complete sets of projectors to set up in here, and this year the added space should really be special. I am worried that we might be spreading everyone out too much, but the extra vertical space was hard to turn down...
Oh yeah, one other change: Richard Gonsalves (A.R.Gon) will not be able to make it this year. He had already signed up, but now he has a gig that is in direct conflict with SELEM. (Bummer! Two years in a row!) However, as a consolation, I have received word that Mike Dunn will be joining us this year!
And remember, you only have a little over 2 weeks left before early registration ends and the price goes up! So register today, and we'll see you at SELEM!
