My math was only for the X mirror, that math doesnt change. Alot harder to actually check out the Y without having a set to measure and see what it can do

I understand your logic, but the 45 degree rest position premise for the x mirror is what might change if not orthogonal mounts !
I think however, even if there was an offset, that the beam would certainly hit the Y scanner shaft way before there is any spill off the x mirror, given the max beam sizes you are suggesting.

PS. If I was looking for max spread I would rotate mount and enter the beam from above as 85 degrees in y axis would hardly be very useful to most people!
