Default Quickshow and Beyond 3.0 - WHEN?

Pangolin have been quite eager to announce the 3.0 version of both QS and Beyond. My understanding was a immediate release after the fair in Frankfurt earlier this month. So far - not available at their homepage.

Does anybody have info on when it will be released? - Really eager to have 40K scanning and enhanced MIDI support in QS.

I think it's still under development , on state of beta.
All Pangolin users who have subscribed for their newsletter will receive an email when they are released it.

I`m aware of that, but Pangolin should have an idea of a releasedate. Just wanted to know if there are any info or rumors out there.

Pangolin said a few weeks after the frankfurt show. That could mean 2-6 weeks. So... I would guess in the next 30 days.

I've expected to this week but had no luck :/
Anyway i'm purchased a 2nd hand APC Mini ,it should arrive on the middle of the next week. Very curious to the MIDI support.
I had an APC 20 with monsieur Funten's BMT mapping. They have worked well.

    Hi guys,

Great question, and this plays right into a post that I was going to make.

First -- as what typically happens with a Pangolin project, it's taking longer than we originally thought, BUT it's also turning out a whole lot cooler than we thought too. This happens every time!!!

To let everyone know what we're talking about, check out the QuickShow 3.0 that we showed at Prolight tradeshow a week or so ago:
    https://youtu.be/E6FWNyzFVBU

This shows the main things we planned for 3.0:

    1. Native support for APC Mini
    2. Virtual DJ plug-in
    3. Support for scan speeds greater than 30K
    4. Enhanced workspace

Well I'll go ahead and tip my hand, and tell you that point number 4 has turned into something much better and, frankly, revolutionary. We're tentatively calling it the "Pangolin Cloud". If you have QuickShow on a computer connected to the internet, you'll be able to access gigabytes upon gigabytes of laser animations and shows.

Over the years, some people complained (rightly so) about the limitations of the Pangolin Shows Portal. Well think about bringing the portal into the program itself, and then adding a lot of features to it. This thing is totally kick-ass and it's really going to revolutionize not only how people build laser shows (just instantly drag and drop from the cloud into your workspace or into a show) but also how you create and (if you'd like) share content.

Currently there are more than 1000 laser shows, workspace pages, and animations on the PangolinShows portal. (This demonstrates that people really like to share the laser shows and other content that they create.) If you log in you will see something like 27 pages of this stuff, but it is largely uncategorized and completely unsearchable, so you have to look through all 27 pages just to find something new... With the new Pangolin Cloud it's much easier and much faster, and also there are no pages (all content is seen instantly). It really kicks ass!

Despite the fact that this really is totally revolutionary, I think we'll have it out within a few weeks. However, we are looking for some help. The cloud is a new service, and so we need a human to help us "publish" data to the cloud. Publishing is really easy (really just one click on a cue), but there is some prep-work as well. I will make a separate post about this, but we're looking for someone who has time on their hands and a bit of experience with laser shows (someone with QuickShow or BEYOND and a laser projector) and who wants to earn either some extra money or some Pangolin products to help us to populate the cloud with initial content.

    Bill

PS: If you're interested in QuickShow 3.0 just send me an email (not private message on PL) and I will send you a download link so you can start playing with faster scan speeds, VDJ and the APC Mini.

Will the above features also be in the next Beyond update?

And presumably all the QS shows will run in Beyond right?

    Thanks...Mike

    Hi Bill,
Though never played with Beyond but pretty comfortable with QS.. if that's help .. let me know what/how you want the data to be publishing on cloud.
