suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.
Got the QS 3.0 beta today and its definitely due to the PPS capability of the software. So happy that is being fixed
EDIT: Though graphic images lose some shape when going from 30 to 40k :/

Hi. I'm new to the forum and would really appreciate some help. I'm looking for a laser projector in the same range as onesixty (somewhere between $1k and $2k) - don't want to spend too much at this stage, but I also want something half decent that can get me started. I also think an all-in-one unit is the way for me to go at this stage rather than trying to build my own.
I've also looked at Ministar and Kvant - I'm in the UK and Ministar looks hard to get hold of. Kvant possibly slightly out of my price range.
I'm really interested in the Tarm models though - There's the Tarm Two (now sold by laserworld), but there are also a couple of older Tarm units I can get potentially. Does anyone have experience of Tarm lasers? I can find very little in terms of reviews or feedback online.
I've also been looking at Laserworld models - midrange units like the PRO-1600RGB or the DS-1800RGB. I get the sense this company has a bit of a bad reputation - is there any truth in that?
Finally I've been looking at Lightspace models from China - I can get a Venus RGB1800 for $1000 or an RGB3000 for $1650.
I know this is a broad question. Really I'm looking for a simple flexible starter system. I'd rate scanner speed and reliability over power. Thanks!
Finally
The bad opinions you hear about Laserworld are due to the companies early days and things have changed a lot in the last 5-6 years. The Tarm Two units are really good competitive units mostly because of the 0.8mrad divergence so they have a really sharp, neat, shaped beam. If you like you can call me on 01618188969 or email me at LM@laserworld.com. I am based in Manchester so if you are quite close to me by all means you can come to our warehouse and see the difference between the units.
The bad opinions about laserworld is because they sold underpowered china projectors for years and the bussiness strategy works as they got bigger and bigger. Companies based in China like Lightspace , Able with Kvant style cases have taken over the market wich lead to that HB and Tarm almost went out of bussiness. They joined Laserworld to survive. The prices have dropped massively over the years in the Low power market so you see now that companies like Tarm and others buy a china box and rebrand it as theirs. The price for a 2W system from Tarm reveils that its a china box as its impossible to produce it in germany.
The Tarm two is manufactured by the lowest price company from china wich is Magnum lighting. The picture below shows the backview from both with the Tarm on the Left. Same parts and similar box. Material cost and labour is cheap in china so to keep up with the low market Tarm decided to go china aswell in the low power range. Customers are fooled as they think they buy a quallity product from a respected brand like Tarm.
Interested in 6-12W RGB projectors with low divergence? Contact me by PM!
Hi Lee, thanks for taking the time to reply. The Tarm Two is a slightly out of my budget range, so I'm looking at the Tarm Two Pre Series, which is still available. From the specs it looks more or less the same but with less powerful lasers - ie the scanners are the same. Is this correct? Would it have the same divergence on the lasers?
Thanks edison. That is indeed very worrying! Do you know for a fact that the Tarm Two is a repackaged Chinese unit? I don't mean to question you (as a much less experienced noob), I just want to be sure. I can see the similarities you point to in the case, but they're not identical. Again, I don't want to question your wisdom, but I'm finding the purchase of a laser projector a bit of a minefield!
Out of interest, where would you recommend I look for a quality unit?
Thanks again.
