Laser power very difficult to discern from a video. However, in most of his videos I'm sure he's used 3 or 5 watt lasers for demo purposes.

Believe me, in a small area, the Venus Bradford suggests will be very bright.

I also 2nd Quickshow as a good choice of software. It combines ease of use with more power than you'd imagine for such a simple interface. One advantage, is if you ever want to upgrade to Beyond, you can just pay the difference and your FB3 will work with either!

Lovely posts!!!! Thank you a lot!! The situation is becoming clear & clear..
First of all I've to add an important information: the laser will not be used often, only on friday and saturday and for some amount of time only (not always on, for obvious reasons).. And I may even add that rarely it will be used, more value it will add itself and to the club.. so I can say the laser will be used for a few time. That means reliability can be not at top, maybe then there be a cheaper solution.

The D-RGB3000-A looks good, but 3000mW are a bit exagerated, considering this video where a 2000mW do its job with lights on, like in this video:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PJ-gv3xl-9M

Probably you suggested it because it has a good quality about lens/optics and reliability. I see there is D-RGB1000 which cost half, but has 20kpp instead of 30 of D-RGB3000-A, is it a problem?
These lasers has both dmx with 128 programs, do you know if someone uploaded a video showing which effects are?
In another video of Goldenstar I see one laser with LAN port and SD card, but mistery about its characteristics. Do you know it? Issues with SD ILD files and Goldenstar?
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5xmjtYFmL6k

About there is a bit of messy searching, I can-t find the variant "II", only this: Is that the model?
    http://eightonlight.cn/products/Lase...2/0611/49.html
Also I can't find where to buy/know the cost.

If u may have other ideas about a 1000-1500W not that reliable for a daly usage but almost good in quality that cost lower kindly address me, thanks.

About the video pojector, it's absolutely an idea to evaluate. A 5000 lumen can cost 1000-1500$, I suppose the max resolution isn't a problem and also 1024pixel will fit, but I can't find a video showing me how it works with light presence. It may be interesting to use the projector itself also for video puroposes, save DACs costs and so on, but I'm not that sure it creates the same look emotions of a real laser.

PS: by the way, I can evaluate now to buy a laser and use with own programs and DMX.. and by the time devlope the ILDA driver.. or decide to buy a DAC later (when all issues are solved, cause the main is how to drive with DMX). I'm writing Spaghetti guy what about a virtual fixture for Martin Lightjockey.

    Thank you a lot!!

That is AMAZING video!! It shows perfectly the comparizon.. lookd video projector hardly draw lines, but look almost similar designing surfaces..
I got the explanation for the DRGB3000, I already wrote Goldenstar about shipment time and customs expenses I'm going to face (I couldn't find a reseller in Russia yet).
Now I would just know about those 128 DMW preconfigured programs, I'm searching if I can see any info about that, and about the video of the Goldenstar laser with LAN and SD, did you catch what is that?
    Thank you

I was about to say I shot that video, but then I realized it's Adams - we were standing next to each other filming it at FLEM. I have his narration on my copy as well. Actually based on this thread, I'd take syrah up on his idea. Video is going to be much safer and equally effective. The thing to keep in mind is THAT video projector is about $2,000. I bought one. The key is having a very high contrast ratio. The other thing to keep in mind is that is done with Pangolin's Beyond software and an FB3. Quickshow is $595. Beyond is around $1595. So.... What you're seeing in that video is more expensive than my original suggestion of a ClubMax and Quickshow with an FB4. BUT you can safely audience scan with it and the untrained eye will not be able to tell the difference.

(I wasn't familiar with syrah's suggested program prior to this but, I do want to check it out. Thanks for the link syrah! )

Here is the Venus II - http://www.eightonlight.cn/products/...2/0611/49.html and you can buy it directly from them. You don't have to buy from Lightspace USA since you have no need for the variance. This is still going to be a better built projector than the Goldenstar. And only a couple hundred dollars different.

Now... All that being said. When I first read your reply my immediate thought was:

It meets your requirements, apparent budget, and disregard. For your audience and your business.

If you - as a business person and club owner are going to take the attitude that the projector doesn't have to be all that good, safe or reliable since it's only going to get used on Friday and Saturday nights, then you really shouldn't be involving yourself with lasers at all. That's a bit like saying a car doesn't need turn signals since you only drive 5 miles to work. Messing around with these "SD card, arduino, raspberry pi, DMX" $40 solution to control the laser is for the hobbyist to experiment with in their basement. NOT exposing to the general public in club. Bite the bullet. Buy proper software or, play with LED lights instead. It will hold it's value and you can sell it for nearly what you paid for it once you damage someone and decide to get out of the laser biz. Or, preferably, as was suggested, go video.

I tried MusicBeam 2.2.0 but can't have it working, gray screen (I'm not using second monitor, but at least I suppose to see something). I read it uses jave, so I carefully uninstalled old versions of java and installed new, so Firefox isn't complain about anything.
I suppose it uses the default browser somehow, how can I try it with Internet explorer? (If there are bugs with FireFox)

Are u sure DRGB3000 has SD? I didn't see it on case and neither specifications.
There is another video (I posted) with LAN port and SD card but can't figure out the series.
Still not succesful finding the 128 presets to evaluate them.

I'm going to try with projector, but first I've to have the softw working

    Hi you all!
After all, checking and checking, talking with guys about developing such a possible adapter between DMX and ILDA control (to manage laser live from Lightjokey) I guess the best solution is Venus 2700 since it has USB and SD card already enbedded..
I just would ask you a couple of questions about, to don't duplicate post I wrote them here:
