I contacted Jacob, and he answered me. I quote:

I've attached a debug firmware. Load this onto the ED2 by connecting it over USB and replacing the existing "ed2.fw", then try again.

There will be new LED blinks at two points during startup. A normal LED sequence with autoplay will be:
- Red ascending sequence
- Bottom LED blinks green once
- Blue ascending sequence
- Green ascending sequence
- Bottom LED blinks blue a few times
- Autoplay starts (middle LED will light up).

If the initial bottom LED green blink doesn't happen and you get three red blinks instead, it's not finding autoplay.txt - this could indicate a problem with the filesystem or partition format on the SD card. If there are red blinks at the end instead of blue, this means there's an error with the contents of autoplay.txt. This should help us narrow down the problem
