Default RGB 2W LH-LASERS, Blue Ocean Technology and all other names...

    Hello guys (and girls?)
I'm really new on this forum but having job and free time with lasers for a more then 13 years now. Couple of weeks ago i wanted to put my "luck on test" and buy cheap laser projector from China (main reason for buying from China was because in my country, for same amount of money i can buy only rubbish like 500mW - 1W RGB with 532nm green and 15-20kpps with dmx only so i was thinking, well this thing from China can not be worse ). I was searching for some reviews etc but found no one about particular brand. It was device 620USD with specs as analog modulation (if you use iShow 3 not older generation or Pangolin etc...) 45kpps (wow), 500mW 638nm, 500mW 520nm and 1W 445nm. Pretty good specs (and unpossible) if you look on price. So i purchased it over guy that i met on faceboook some time ago (seller directly from company) after i checked with other people that i know and who cofirmed me that he is active seller for a while and not one of those "vanish after sell" guys. But no one knew anything specific about their laser devices. Device came really fast with DHL and free shipping but ofcorse, as expected out of specs ( i was aware that it is very big chance it won't be in specs for so low price but ). So what i got inside is 30kpps and 532nm green (which is not even close to 500mW), 500mw 638nm and 1W 445nm. I could say, expected. But later when i got device i found out it is not analog at all (there is display with buttons to change options, one of options is monochrome(white), single color or 7 colors (no Fullcolor option as it should be on their analog devices as i checked earlier). Also send them pictures of my 532nm laser module near their device to see its same color. Also tested device at 10 celsius, green laser almost didnt want to work at all (dpss). Still wasnt so disapointed. But i got mad when they started to convince me it is analog and 520nm in a manner that i am telling lies (i dont really know why would i do that, besides, if we look that way, onlyone who was lying was ther specs, no matter that i was aware of that probability). So for now, i am waiting for their response. Anyone else with some experience of those brands? Did anyone get 520nm inside?

Btw i hope this is right place for this topic, sorry if i missed it...

Some photos of build quality inside of projector. Model is LH-RGB244. Quality? Decide for yourself.

Have they run out of cap head screws, looks like some wood screws have been used for the scanners and a couple other bits?

What DAC are you testing it with? If you're just looking at the inbuilt patterns, a lot of those boards are TTL only.
Connect a known analogue source to the modulation to confirm it is/isn't analogue modulation

You are using Bonetti's defense against me, ah?

I thought it fitting, considering the rocky terrain.

...okay so another one big warning for all of you about this company. If you buy, You definitly wont get what's on specs so i can clearly say its fraud. They do send device and will be very kind to help you with customs but they definitly do NOT put inside device whats on their official specs. Also not answering back on emails.

The only chinese companies I trust are Lightspace and Goldenstar. I'm not sure they sell anything for the price you bought yours but at least you know you will get what they advertise.. or at least very close to it.

@lasersharp: Yep I've got the same experience, although no regrets as, thanks to the folks on this forum, I knew what I was getting into.

My first laser was Blue Ocean 500mW "analog 30kpps". Although it may push about half of declared light, and it's definitely running at about 15kpps and is TTL, no regrets. Why no regrets? It was a great experience and a jump point with almost minimal investment to see, if laser hobby is for me and I did enjoy it even through the super painful process of using SD card reader as first interface and constantly changing files on it and in, out, in out etc.. I think the blue laser is dead as well after about ~50 hours of use too.

I agree with you about expectations...and one little funny thing...accidents happens so it happened also to me. Device crashed from 2m to the floor - nothing mooved AT ALL, not even little bit! I was shocked because i was pretty sure i'll have to realign everything. But lasers are intact and really good aligned. Everybody who use laser devices are familiar how vibrations and especially crashing laser device can be "pain in the hole". So it is the ONLY thing that i am "happy" about. Anyways,i think there should be really big warning as afer all, it is really FRAUD.
