Default 4x or 6x Cylinder lens pair group buy

    Hi Guys,

I'm again out of these. Thought I might as well do a group buy if anyone is interested and pass on some savings.

Another group buy for the same lenses as per last time?

    Lens sizes are as follows:

Convex lens - 12mm high by 10mm wide
concave lens - 12mm high by 6mm wide

Mag ratio: 4x magnification or 6x magnification

    Material:BK7
    Surface Quality:60-40
    Coating:AR A:350-650nm

Per set if we get to 50 sets, they will work out at $40AUD inc PP and airmail shipping costs

Any chance mounts will be an option to add?

Dave, have sent you PM, also need some other bits as well as *4 and *6, can you confirm you have seen it?

    Thanks,

    Dupe...

    Hey Dave!

Sign me up for 2 of the 4x and 1 of the 6x (with mounts for all), please!

I'm interested in a set but have two questions. I have a set that I bought years ago but I don't remember the focal length. Is it crucial that both beams are corrected with the same focal length cylinders or can they be combined without issue using two different focal length sets? Also, I'm still unsure as to what effect different focal lengths have on the beams. I will be combining 2 P73 diodes. Is one particular set more appropriate than the other? Considering I have a 50/50 chance of matching the focal length of my current set, which set would be recommended? I guess that's more than 2 questions but you get the idea. Thanks for the help.

You have to deal with 3 variables: FL Collimator, cyl magnification, and cyl distance from diode. You can get almost the same results (beam specs) with any combination, but the necessary room to achieve it can vary.
For a given FL collimator, you can get the same expansion with 4x cyl set or 6x cyl set, but you need to place the 4x cyl set far away from diode vs 6x to get the same expansion. So further away cyl set from diode=more expansion (fatter beam, less divergence).
So you can play moving away cyl set from diode until getting desired expansion ie beam specs.
That said... if you go with 2mm FL colli, you can place the cyl set closer to diode to get the same expansion than going with G2 (longer FL), because with f2 the beam is more divergent so magnification is higher on the cyls.
If going with G2 and 4x cyls, you should place the cyls very far away from diode to get say...5mm beam about 1mrad...so better 6x cyls with G2...it requires less room.
But again...it depends on the beam specs you want to achieve, based on your aperture scan and green/blue specs. To get near 5mm beam/1mrad with less required room: G2+6x cyl set or F2+4x cyl set. Combine with PBS before cyls. With F2 because of smaller near field beam profile, you can even stack both vertically (4mm heigh) and avoid PBS/Rotator.

Ok, put me down for one 6x set with mount pair. Thanks!
