... for Easter my middle sister has thought about some "Easter egg" designs - she wants them in brass, but I also thought about distributing them as "silhouettes" in black cardboard on white postcards to some of our shops in town - in cardboard it is much faster (and cheaper) to cut, so that they can give it away as a gift:

Here a videoclip showing the "cutting" of one of the motives - https://vimeo.com/328723827

Attached three of the designs ... could be, she draws some more ...

... yes! - she makes much more artwork ... but mostly only for herself or friends -- like smartphone-covers ... or designs for her "keltic knotting" and such ...

Interested to know if the pieces that come loose affect the result at all?

... not really - if they start to come loose, it's like 99,5% cut ... I've simply blown the pieces away and cut a last sequence to be sure ... but wasn't necessary.

This was only a fast test - for normal cutting I'm using an elevated holder with room below, so the pieces will fall down ...

... actually building/developing for another "laser-marking" project - but with a blue 6W-laserdiode instead of a fiber-laser ... meant for foam and some organic material:

... here two videos, showing the "lasercutting" (more multi-pass engraving) of the "rabbit-egg" - first in black cardboard:

... actually developing a 0,4mm-fiber-adapter for the 200Watt-diode with "random found parts" from the local tool store B)

Attached images of the original parts, cut/lathed/drilled/tapped in shape and pre-assembled ... "reworked" for better fiber-justage ... and (only posing for the camera) assembled -- without the armoured hose and remote collimating/focussing head ...
