    Cool

    hehe! Well, it is going to be a lot of fun. Though from the looks of it our UK members have quite a decent event planned as well. In fact, I think they'll have a few more members present at their event than we will at ours.

    Sorry Cruch; I know you wish you could attend. We'll be sure to take lots of pictures and video of the event. But Aaron has a point; maybe you could attend the gathering in the UK?

    Sure wish we could get Clandestiny's speakers there for SELEM... They'd bring the roof down! I still need to get in touch with MechEng3 and see if he can bring some audio gear to give us some more punch.

    One other thing: For the guys that will be arriving on Friday evening... Where would you like to meet for dinner, and at what time? I've had a couple people suggest that we eat in town (in Newton) so we don't have to drive a long way. There aren't a lot of choices in Newton; the Artist's Cafe would probably be our best bet. The nice thing is that it's just a couple blocks from the auditorium.

    However, if we are willing to drive about an hour we could go into downtown Charlotte and dine at one of the exceptional resteraunts there. (Ruth's Chris Steakhouse comes to mind...) So what is the general consensus? Are you guys going to be sick of driving by the time you get to Newton, or would you want to make a road trip into Charlotte for dinner Friday night? And what is a good time to meet? (I'm thinking 6 pm or so???)

    Who all will be in town on Friday evening? I know I'll be there with my son around noon, and David and his wife will be there around the same time as well. Aaron, I think you said you and your girlfriend would be rolling in around 5 PM, right? And Steve-o, I think you said that you were planning to arrive around the same time, right? Will you be bringing anyone with you?

    I know that Bill Benner and Hayden Hale will also be in town that Friday afternoon. So, did I miss anyone? Is that a complete list for Friday night?

    Sorry Adam, I forgot to reply... I think we will both have the 17th off so we may be able to leave early. Once whe knows for sure I will let you know. I'm also trying to sell a few computer parts to make sure I am finacially secure for when we come. I am working days and losing my 12.5% shift differencial for last week and the next two... Kinda got my bank account by the balls. I may have to bring out a card I would rather not... can we call this an emergency?

    My Better-Half's not been feeling well lately, but she'd like to see the lasers, but if she's not going to attend I'll take a vac. day and I'll be there fri.aft-noon. Shes going to see if she can get off wk early fri.
    I dont really know about an hour drive into Charlotte for din. so my choice would to be to eat in town. Maybe a Greek Gyro --
    It;s kinda all up in the air right now..
    But I'm (We'll) definately be there with bells on..
    Fri or Sat...

    Hi Steve-o;

    Cool! I was hoping you'd be able to make it Friday for dinner. Looking forward to it dude...

    OK - the general consensus is that folks would prefer to stay in Newton and have dinner there. With that in mind, I'd like to suggest we dine at The Artist's Cafe... It's located on Main Street, less than 3 blocks from the auditorium and about 5 blocks from the Trotthouse Inn Bed & Breakfast. They've got plenty of room on the second level for us, and they also have a relaxation / smoking lounge up there that overlooks the bar area. After we eat, we could all unwind in the lounge and enjoy a few drinks while we catch up on who's been doing what since we last got together in Florida back in January...

    If that sounds good to everyone, I'll set up the reservations. How about 6 PM for dinner - sound like a plan?

    Hi Steve-o;

    Ok - gotcha... Will plan on just you for Friday dinner then.

    Do you already have reservations for a room near Newton? The Bed and Breakfast still has the suite on the third floor available, but it's only available for Friday night. It's booked Saturday night to another couple that isn't part of our group. (You know, it's too bad your wife isn't coming with you on Friday - that suite would probably be ideal for you and your wife, as it's got a garden tub right in the room... But if you're gonna stay for Sunday you'd have to get a different room for Saturday night.)

    Adam,
    It'll probably be just me for the event. I've made reservations at the HolidayInn Express. The garden tub sounds fun tho I'll have to wait and see her work schedule. She may drive in on Saturday. Dunno..
