Yeah, I've got one of these sitting here on my desk courtesy of a friend. I don't think its noisy compared to most plastic gratings I've seen. The rotating Earth effect is very cool.

I stuck a laser star field projector in the inside of my soda machine so that it would project on the inside front of the vending machine for eye catching, worked really well for about two months but the servo motors burned out!
